Thanks guys. Here's some more shots. I've got some cool billet parts I've been working on to cover the nuts. They'll look sweet. I might have them on by spring.

do you get a lot of airflow with them at speed?

Since I'm not a design engineer I was a little worried about noise or maybe even a whistle sound at speed. None of that happened. They are very quiet and let in a decent amount of air. I've had them open a couple of times with a back seat passenger and the door windows up. He said it was a nice feel in the back seat.

I'll be honest with you though, I keep them closed all the time. I never open them. I had them open twice and that's it. I just liked the look of scoops and didn't want faux crap on the car. I see nobody else has done it so I decided to do it. It was exactly a year ago.

you should consider marketing them cus i would prob buy them if you had them available. prob without taking the window out though. the vent through idea is cool. i was leaning towards the razzi ones but i might wait if you think you might take these further.

My only complaint is that the aluminum piece stands out to much I would want it to blend in with the body completly.

I've had a couple of people say the aluminum stands out too much, but always on the net, not in person. When they are right in front of you the aluminum looks sweet. Of course, I could have made them all black.

I won't be trying to market them. It took me about 15 days to make them. I could do a set quicker now, but it's too much BS without all the proper tools and equipment. The inner panel that replaces the glass has to be convex not flat. The glass in the car is not flat. I had to pound the metal into the right convex shape and all of the vent pieces are also made to fit that shape. There's a double industrial felt seal that works very well keeping water and air out when closed. All of the screws can be adjusted to loosen or tighten the vent slider which is riding along 2 nylon rails to keep it centered and from wobbling. The felt keeps it whisper quiet while it slides.

Since the outer shell is welded to the inner part that replaces the glass it makes it hard to paint the inside of the scoop (outside of car) but it could have been done. After getting the finish on the aluminum it all had to be taped up so the painting could be done. I'll probably post some pics around spring of the finished look where the nuts are now. I have something I'm working on for that. Looks much better.

Leo, did you get your CDC louvers pre-painted or did you have them done? They look awesome!

Thanks. I bought mine used from "pegasusphotox" when he switched to SHR louvers. Since his car is black I didn't need to get them painted. FYI- CDC doesn't sell them pre-painted.

I'm not sure the CDC ones are pre-painted. Don't you think they would make sure it said pre-painted on the title? If they are painted, thats a great price.
