Do you guys know if someone makes a front grill without the pony?

Ford Racing Bullitt grille, or Agent 47.

(the tri-bar in my pic is something I added on my own)

I've been looking for a grille that resembles that of the '69 Mach1. Unfortunately no one makes anything like that, i.e.: having the fogs in the grille as well.

So my idea is to cut the pony out of one grille, then take another grille and cut out a section of honeycomb to fill in that section. Hopefully with the right materials and some painting I can make it look factory.

I spent a lot of time looking for a factory looking honeycomb grill that had the fog lamp openings w/o the pony. Closest thing I could find was the A47 grill. In the end I ended up with a Bullitt grill, I like it, but I miss the fog lamps.

Sorry I forgot to mention that i was looking for a honey comb grill with the stock fog locations no pony. Dark side if i could find a cheap grill to hack up that would be a good idea.

Sounds like you're better off taking the Bullitt grille w/ the chrome-like surround and just cutting the openings for the fogs.

Cut the pony out or cut the opening for the fogs, either way two grilles need to get hacked up. And I am not sure if it'd look good with or without a chrome surround. Dangit!

Another thing to contemplate.

What am I missing? Why is there a need for 2 grilles if you just cut the fog light holes out of the Bullitt grille?

Because where would you get the surrounds for the fogs unless you had cut a set from another grille? You can buy the fogs anywhere, but the way they mount on the stock grille is what you would need for any other grille you attach them too... no?

OK, gotcha. I guess I didn't look that closely at the grille, but after thinking about it you're right. But since you're going to put that much effort in either way, I wonder if there's a different way to mount them and still have it look factory? Some type of bezel for the front? Anywho - have fun hacking it up.

Edit: BTW - that 69 Mach 1 look is exactly what I wanted too, but the A47 w/ the pony mounted where I did it was the closest I could come up with. The A47 grille moves the fogs slightly more to the sides, more like that 69.

Let me preface this by saying I love the look of your car OCD.

Here is a rather odd idea, I just need to find a cheaply priced Bullitt grille though. Cut the GT fog light housings out of the grille without any honeycomb at all. Just the bezels. Then trace that pattern on the Bullitt grille, closer to the edge a la the Agent 47, then cut out the honeycomb on the Bullitt. After that, just use some sort of epoxy to mount the bezels into the Bullitt. Then you can mount the stock fogs into the bezels and have kinda the best of all worlds. Bullitt with the chrome surround, GT fogs, stock appearance, AND still room to put any emblem on it you want.

Does this sound good or am I just completely insane.

P.S. - Not trying to threadjack here DP.

Thank you, and we're still on topic talking about pony-less grilles.

I think that's a great idea. I'd check to see if you can find a junk yard grille w/ the tabs broken, etc since you only need the bezels. I think you're on to something, and that would look kickass!

Well the thing is I have my original stock gt grille on the car still. I bought a stock get grille with fogs still in it off of a TMS member. All I need is that Bullitt grille. My neighbor has plenty of tools and could probably help me out.

I'm not sure I want to buy one for that kind of money and then go hack it up. Just in case it doesn't pan out. LOL.

Oh I would so post it up when I do it. That is a must for TMS. Of course when it is done I will make sure to get the DIY guide figured out in case anyone else wanted to do it.

I was lucky enough to get mine back when they were going for under $200. Performance Parts Inc. has them listed for $299

05GT has the look I want BUT I want it with the honey comb grill instead of the wire mesh. I guess the only option right now is to do what you guys said... get a bullitt grill and add the stock fogs and surounds.
