The gt emblems were a pita to take of since I didn't have a heat gun or anyway of getting my wifes hair dryer outside. I finally got the emblems off with a mini flat head screw driver and very careful prying to avoid scratching or chipping paint. It probably to me about 30-45 to take off both emblems.

Once they were off I had to goo gone the **** out of the fender because you could see the gt impression perfectly. After about 10min total on each side there was no trace of the gt emblems with the exception of the two pre drilled holes of cours. Anyways after that installing the pony emlems is a matter of peeling the adhesive backing and pushing in to the holes.

Leo, excellent write-up and pics, they look great!
I got nervous when you mentioned that you used a screwdriver to lift off the GT emblems... no harm, no foul.

Oh belive me I had the whole trunk lid memory racing through my head. That's the only reason I haven't wanted to order the pony gas cap. I just don't want to mess with that decklid ever again.

Looks good, Leo!! How much from KC? I've already removed the rear medallion and put the pony (V6) one on, and want to do the fender ponies on my '07 soon.

TKS. How hard was it to remove the gas cap? Did it take any paint with it? I'll PM you the price as Kevin has asked not to post his prices on the net.

Thomas Luscher is the guy, and he's already hooked up 3 other people with a set of custom 281s. He'll do the vinal inlay any color you want for a more one off look.

Leo, it was cool of you to post up on this subject, LOOKS NICE!
I wish i would have known you did this because i would have loved to get some accurate measurements on your locator hole positions!
If anyone does this in the near future please let me know! I need to know the measurements of the pre-drilled hole locations, i am going to be adding frnder badges soon and would like to get it as close to stock as possible! Thanks, ohh..... and what is this goo stuff? Where do you get it? Again, thanks! Dave

TKS DAVE. Why don't you just go to a dealership and take measurements there? You can get goo gone almost anywhere ie Walmart,Home Depot, Micheals, Staples you get the point. They'll probably even have it at your local supermarket. It will run you 3-5 bucks depending on the bottle size. Goo gone is a citrusy liquid that gets rid of adhesive resdiue and other things that are a pita to remove.
