Maybe some of you have heard this... maybe some haven't. I read in a magazine the other day how this one guy, instead of paying for brand new center caps with the ponies, used a 2 1/4 hole saw drill bit to drill out the Ford center and then snapped in the smaller pony center caps like the kind one would put on a bullit wheel. Anyway, they had a shot of it and at first I thought it was just a stock 2006 wheel.

Can't say that I've tried this myself but it looked good, and if it works, could save you some money.

Thats the same story I read. I will see if I can find it and scan it tomorrow. I think it was Mustang Enthusiast magazine.

You lost me at "Maybe some of you heard this".

Are you saying that you can swap the ford caps out for pony caps. That doesn't seem like anything new. Why are you drilling anything. I thought you could just buy replacements?

Sounds to me like he's talking about drilling out the centre of the ford 2005 upgrade rims and putting in a pony insert as they would be cheaper then the full 5 bolt pattern one.
