parnelli jones front bumper question

What's up guys..

I am looking to get this bumper in the spring and wanted to know what fog lights could fit in the holes the Roush or the gt500?

Also aside from stage 3 motorsports is there any place else I could get the bumper for cheaper?

Thanks guys

Do you have a pic or a link to the bumper?

I've got one, got it from Stage3.

I'm wondering the same thing, and have the 4" fogs from the Escape/GT500 waiting to go in, but haven't yet done so. It's about 4th on my install list right now, unfortunately

Unfortunately it's not a simple or straightforward process, they weren't designed for this. They're supposed to be brake duct holes.
The 4" ones I have (http://www.amazon.com/ESCAPE-PASSENG.../dp/B000E4M1QI, ) do not fit flush due to the inner lip, which I'll have to pare back with an exacto/utility knife. Then it's a matter of securing them, I think I'm going to epoxy the front, and maybe metal straps, but it's a good question...

There are a few on another forum that have put ones in their's, but I can't find the sites/links at the moment...

Thanks for the info and help.. Yea I know how they said they were only brake duct holes but that sucks because its the only bumper I like for my stang.. I have been dying to put yellow fog lights on the car to go with the grabber orange and this bumper would be perfect because it has the chin spoiler the holes to put fog lights in and the splitters.. figured it would look sweet..

I know a salesman at stage3 had the same bumper and he said he was trying to figure out the same thing. I will shoot him an email to see if he has put any on yet and let you guys know.

That'd be great. I still have to install my driveshaft, radiator, brake ducts, new adjustable rear AR bar, and rear lower fascia. Oh, and hook up my turn signal mirrors.

So hopefully will get to these later this spring. I'll try to snap some photos of what I have when I'm under there this weekend, show you what the thing looks like. It's basically just a truncated cone on the backside, with a bit of a flat section going inward around the hole itself. Nothing on the cone to help connect it, and of course drilling into that area isn't helpful.

I bought these Roush pieces thinking they'd help, they do fit the Escape/GT500 fogs (where I got the idea, the Roush instruction manual), but again no way that's easy to attach them to the bumper itself:

http://www.cjponyparts.com/product.a...paign=shopping

I was thinking of getting the Roush, but there's so many of them. Very few of the Heritage/PJ front fascia. And I like the lower grille. I put some JLT bezels in them for routing a brake duct kit. Just have to hook it up.

(That's the stock GT500 pic, not my Heritage grille, though the colors are the same, and I do want those fogs!)

That's exactly how I feel.. the Roush bumper was in my mind for a bit because it comes pre painted from stage three with the plug and play foglights and all I would to do is change the lens but I agree there are too many of them and I like to be unique ... if u have the Roush light holders why not try the Roush fogs and sell the escape / gt500 if they don't work?

I am also trying to figure out what hood to get. I like cervinis ram air type 4 hood with this bumper but the ram air kit wont work with my drop CAI so I might go with truefiber sh-gt hood instead plus its cheaper .... I haven't heard back from stage 3 but ill check this afternoon

I was thinking the exact same! Love that sh-gt look. But, I think if I do the hood I'll get the Steeda 2" race cowl induction one. I'm afraid the sh-gt scoops would add too much drag, something this car doesn't need, and getting to 120+ on the straights of the local road courses the aerodynamics start taking an effect. The cowl hood should help better with cooling as well.

The Escape fogs exactly fit the Roush brackets, that's what they're designed to use, have mounting holes and all. Problem is the Roush brackets don't fit the Heritage/PJ holes, at least without some modification.

Is there a way to just drill or make holes into the gt bumper for fog light... would I need to take that to a body shop or?

That's what I'm trying to figure as well, but it's a smooth 'cone' on the backside of the bumper, with nothing obvious to attach to. Looking at the Roush one (wish I could see a GT500 one as well, but never have) they have little tabs/screw holes where that bracket above connects, but the Heritage one doesn't. I'm thinking maybe epoxy down a tether type attachment on the outboard side, and screwing it in on the other side where the lower grille is, and having a strap run across the backside of the light itself.
Other thought was a velcro piece on the plastic cone, and then a velcro strap across the backside.
Ideal would be a couple of angle brackets attached to some nearby structure, but I think that'd be difficult.

I believe the Heritage bumper cover is the same as the PJ and the only other place I've seen it competitively priced is:

http://www.281motorsports.com/produc...roducts_id=436

you'll have to contact them for shipping costs though

They are one and the same, that's the price Stage 3 had in the past, I got their last one advertised on Ebay for that price (then they changed it). They also have free shipping, if I'm not mistaken, but this 281 say's it's only $20. So if that's correct they'd be cheaper. Probably worth emailing or calling them first to confirm, though.

281 says it comes with the heritage chin ... is the chin spoiler for stage 3 the actual pj one .... if 281 is cheaper then im going to throw out the idea of getting a cervini type four ram air hood and chin spoiler.. how much did it cost to paint this ?

The one I have is the one in the Stage 3 picture, it's pretty substantial. I do know the Heritage and PJ spoiler are different, but don't recall which was bigger.

I think it's the PJ/Gurney edition that's bigger:

I think my painting was $5-600, don't recall exactly. Not cheap for sure.

Update on this bumper :

I called 281 to verifey the chin spoiler and he said it is exactly the same as the pj version and confirmed because he said he built them. Also the shipping is 100 if I call in and order not $25 as we suspected. With that being said I might order this from stage 3 if its cheaper with a discount code. If not ill call and order it from 281. Also might add an apr splitter to it. Hopefully I get my tax return soon and sell some items on ebay to get everything I need to order this sucker...

Will post pics when done

Spoke with john from stage 3 and confirms that the bumper comes with the low profile chin but will swap it out with the agressive one at no.extra charge. I might go with stage 3 because even though 281 says they are the same stage 3 made me feel confident that i will get the correct chin. Also with a 5% code and free shipping the cost would be lil 615 oppose to 281 would be 600. Not much of a difference.

Have no experience with 281, but Stage 3 has always been great to work with.

I have all the install PDFs as well -- let me know if you need them.
