Painting prep question

Okay, I'm taking the plunge. I'm going to paint my rear diffuser flat black, but I want to know how I should properly prep it first. I'm assuming I should use some sort of degreaser, then scuff it (what grit?). Since it'll be flat/textured paint, I'm assuming it will cover some minor imperfections, but I just don't want to screw it up or have it chipping and peeling in the next couple months. Any help would be appreciated.

I used scotchbrite to scuff mine, after masking/scuffing/blowing off, wiped down with dx330 wax/grease remover...used the flex additive in the paint...
