Painting a C/S rear bumper

Since I have to get my rear bumper repainted as someone hit me the other day, I have been looking into a C/S bumper since I have always liked it. The only problem is that they are not made in my color. Anyone see any issues that might come up if I just get one in white and have it repainted?

For some reason I thought Ford shipped them unpainted. I can't imagine them stocking painted rear bumbers as it would be rather cost inefficient to stock colors that might not sell as well as others.

Painting C/S Bumper

Ford only sells them unpainted. I just purchased both the front and rear 2007 C/S bumpers for my '05 GT from Kevin Casey. He had them drop shipped directly to me within a couple of days. My car and the bumpers are at the body shop right now. The new bumpers were painted today (Legend Lime) and will be installed on the car tomorrow.

just curious. Is the black on the rear bumper black plastic or does is it need to be painted as well?

the back lower section is already black and does not require repainting

I just got my rear cover from KC. I'll try to post pictures of it unpainted tomorrow.
