We have a custom two tone car in our showroom with painted window trim and mirrors. It looks awesome!

That looks sweet, to bad I did not see that before I had my mirrors painted. I would have done that for sure.

I've been trying to find that window trim in chrome, with no luck. I think the trim done in chrome would look really good. Add to the retro touch, as all the Mustangs were like that back then. Anyone know of some trim done in chrome?

I unno, the older mustangs also had chrome bumpers and alot more chromed parts than the new ones do. Might look out of place without chrome trim around the other windows too.

The piece that is painted is the plastic on the outside of the window, so it shouldn't.

The only problem I have with them being painted. Was the price I was quoted. $500 seems a little steep for that little painting. That was for the mirrors and the trim.

I like the painted trim very much also!!!!!! IMO it is a subtle addition which makes the cars look really clean. (not washing clean but cleanly put together) $500 does seem steep, so if anybody else has done this could you answer a couple of questions: Does the paint chip easily? How much were you charged?

I love the painted trim.....wonder what that would set a person back to have done? $500.00 sounds kinda steep.

Painted mirrors/window trim

That looks so awesome! I wanted to get my mirrors painted but the shop I took it to wouldn't touch it, said they had to sand the texture off or something and they wouldn't guarantee the job. What was involved in painting these, did the shop have to remove the texture in order to paint or just sprayed 'em?

I covered mine with 3M vinyl. I wanted to see how it would look before I had them painted. It turned out so good that I never even bothered getting them painted. A huge sheet of 3M vinylwas only $10 at a local sign shop. The color match was dead on. You can't tell it's tape.

That 3M vinyl can be used for alot of things. They should call it 3 Miracle tape. I took my door mirrors off myself and took them to the local body shop and they painted them for $50 bucks. Looks factory and the paint match was perfect. 2 years later and they look the same as the day I got them from the painter.
