Painted and smoked

Nice looking car! I'm planning smoked fog covers for next spring. I found another interesting cost friendly site too.

My self-painted emblem was one of my first mods:

When you say you smoked it, do you mean you painted them with the same paint as your tails? What did you use?

So I bought the one off ebay. Would love to go with a black chrome type look, but not sure how to go about it. Any ideas?

We had our pony done by Bill (hiremen). I "think" he used to work with UAD (unique automotive designs).

Where does Bill work now? I've been looking for him for a while.

Can't remember were I got mine, but it was $75 painted to match my Vapor car. I think "Hireman" does these for the place I got it. If you want me to I'll look through the pile of reciepts I have.

it should work well for creating a black chrome look. i'd clean the chrome with alcohol (don't scuff it all), spay a very light coat of nite shades and then follow-up with a couple coats of gloss clear. the result should look very much like black chrome.

This may be a great alternative to a very expensive one sold around

It's hard to tell from the pics here and on their website...Maybe I'm getting old.

Does the stick on pony cover look tacky or bulky up close?

Thanks.

Could this emblem be adjusted to fit on a front side fender? Say at the lower part as part of a horizontal stripe?
