Painted Pony Emblem

Tried searching, had no luck.

Where is the best place to get a painted Pony Grill emblem from? I'd like to find one in black chrome or Alloy.

I thought they redid the pony for 2010 and it wouldn't fit?

I took the dremel tool to the pony backing place on the grille, the 2010 Pony is not an exact fit. You can't tell that I cheated unless you get up really close.

Can you show us a closeup picture of the install pony ?

Especially where you had to use the dremel.

Thanks

Here is an option:

I think you can get the base one in all black for a bit less. Not cheap though.

Yeah I will, but it has been raining for two days and will for the next couple.

They look the same at first glance but are in fact a slightly different profile. I had to trim much of the "ridge" that runs around the original Pony on the backing plate (to recess the pony).

I will get you a couple of pics when weather permits.

Any chances to take a picture ?

I really would like to see the fit before ordering one !

As you can see from my Avatar I need to get that pony darker up front to match the tinted look of my car.

Thanks

Actually, when they painted my spoiler I had them to shoot a emblem that I purchased for Ford, i was sodablasted first to remove the chrome and then painted Mineral Grey like my car. it's nice but I'm affraid that it will chip easily so that's why I'm looking at the OEM black chrome option...

Your embelms turned out great. Ive got some "powered by ford" emblems that I want to paint black. I remember you had a thread before the crash detailing how you did yours but it seems it was lost. Would you mind reposting on how you went about painting yours because they turned out really good. Thanks,

Painted Pony Emblem

Hi All,
Just joined. This is where I got mine. Really cheap and easy. Used Black Satin Krylon Fusion for plastic. Don't try to save the prongs on the Chrome Pony you have now. They will break anyway. You get new clips with this unit and if you decide to go back to the original someday. There is plenty of surface for Crazy Glue. Sorry I don't have any pics yet. Here you go!
