Painted my factory wheels black

Took me about 3 days. I kinda did a half-a$$ed job because I am getting real aftermarket wheels in a few months.

Im flabergasted at how good those look and judging by the second pic the paint looks pretty smooth. What kinda paint or equipment did you use to spray them.

Sanded with 80 grit, then 600. Primer (forget brand) then I used duplicolor gloss black engine enamel (3 coats) and three coats of laquer (forget the brand).

looks awsome. I might have to pick a set of those up and have my body guy spray them.

Now you need to black out your exhaust tips and turn signal lamps.

exhaust tips? Never, if you do that, they just look dirty. I would like to black out the headlamps, but I like being able to see at night.

Actually, I remember seeing a thread on here not too long ago where the person was experimenting with "dark" chrome tips. The effect looked pretty cool IMO.

Those orange turn signals clash with everything else on the car. If I were you I'd either get clear ones or the newer "black" type - they look good!

Just my $0.02.

With a black car you gotta get these black turn signal housings:

They are also available w/o the amber reflector, but I like the spirit of keeping in legal-ish. Besides, the amber is hard to see unless your down at road level looking at it from the side.

And I think we both need a chin spoiler (which I'm getting ready to have painted, but then I don't have to worry about adding the stripes like you).

Seriously, your is the best non all black, black Stang I have. If I didn't already have those black DD rims, I really might have done what you have. I would have tried a burnt orange color scheme other than red, but that is just where my loyalties are.

Any thoughts on the flush mount 1/4 window louvers?

I would love to get a chin spoiler, but paying somewhere in the neighborhood of $350 for 5 feet of plastic isnt on top of my mod list. As far as the louvers go, I would love the SHR ones, but the install seems like a PITA. Also, what color do those turn lamps blink? Are they clear? Isnt that illegal?

I see a need for some lowering springs.
