Painted my calipers and rotors

Painted my calipers and rotors today. Took about six hours. Bought this car back in Novemeber and it came with these wheels. They are so open that I had to do something. Tired of looking at rusty parts!!

Great job!

What kind of paint did you use? Just wondering as I'm interested in doing this myself.

They are Godspeed 20" wheels. I used Duplicolor caliper paint for all of it. I used silver for the rotors and red for the calipers.

How did you do the rotors? Spray the whole thing and let the pads scrape off the paint from the swept area? It looks great! I did my calipers with the same stuff a while ago but I've been wanting to do my rotors as well.

Looks great! This is on my list of things to do - I don't like the rust on the rotors and I want to paint the calipers too.

I taped off the braking surface and cut out around the areas needing painted with a razor blade. It was tedious but just like anything worth doing it's worth doing right.

that looks so much better. nice job. when its time to replace the rotors, i went with zink plated ones. they stay shiny silver for a very long time.

Yep, when I need new rotors I will go that route. It will be a few years probably in a few years as I will probably only put about 200-400 miles a year. This car is not my DD. I bought it to work on with my son and to pass it on to him when I am gone.

That'd be a awesome thing to do coming from a younger son, 19

yes they are. i got the V6 set for one car and the gt set for mine( upgraded frts) course the rears are the same on both cars. either set was $200 for the 4 rotors and ceramic pads, which lessens the brake dust on the wheels.
