I know alot of us have wanted to paint the headlights since they first came out but it seemd like a huge challenge removing them from the buckets. When Roger (hippehead25) offered to give it a try I volunteered to be the guinea pig.

Let me tell you, he did a kick hiney job. This is the way ford should have built these cars. Even though it is a very subtle mod it still looks great. Rogers work is first class. It almost looks factory and the ARE COMPLETELY SEALED. There is no way these things should get moisture in them. Anyway here are the pics.

It took about 45 minutes to get it off, 30 to get it back on. And I am very mechanically challenged. 10 bolts hold the bumper on. Very easy to do

Painted lights look great Jason! I didn't know you had to remove the whole bumper to remove the lights... You learn something new every day...

I'm in the same boat.

I hated the black buckets from the beginning and said so a lot, but maybe I've gotten too used to them. I really wanted to do this to my car, but now I'm not so sure. I'll wait to have an opinion until I see more cars and give the "new" look time to grow on me.

I think I'll just sit here and stare at the pictures for a while.

Glad you got exactly what you wanted and expected Jason.
Thanks for the pics.

Looks good but I like the black action better. I guess the days of pulling out 2 aligment pins and the headlight comes right off like the 99-2004 models is over.

I am definitely interested. BUT... I have been in Boston for business and have a few weeks to go before I am where my car is. Plus, I am going to need to pick up a spare set beceause the down time is out of the question.
