Paint Problems - Help!

I just got my Mustang back from the body shop. I had them paint and install a GT/CS front fascia and a GT-500 rear spoiler. Well, they look terrible!! I have used this body shop before and I could not tell the factory paint from their work. I stressed this car needed to be perfect and paid extra for additional coats and wet sanding. Well, they wanted to wait until next week to 'buff it out' and I could get the car and bring it back next week. Well, I need to know if there is too much to buff out. They didn't even do this step last time I had work done there and it looked perfect. My Mustang is far from it.

Anyways, there are bits of dust in the paint all over both pieces (you can see it and the parts are rough when you run your hand over them). Also, there are small scratch marks deep in the paint that look like they might be from not completely cleaning the part and removing any oils from people touching the part prior to prep and paint. Bottom line is it looks terrible. At this point, I would like to put the stock parts back on and forget about the entire thing. Unfortunately, I do not know how to get the GT-500 Spoiler off without ruining the factory paint on the decklid. The spoiler uses a ton of adhesive and wraps over the lip of the trunk lid, so you can't pull it off or cut it off with fishing line, IMO. I am afraid to take it back and have more damage done to my Mustang.

Any thoughts?? I didn't post pics because it is hard to pick up these problems in a picture, but VERY obvious if you walk up to the Mustang in the sunlight. Thanks.

I would take it back if you said they done good would before and have them fix it. Too much money to waste by just taking the parts and changing them.

I hate it when they give it to the new guy to practice on....
Get them to fix it.
They must have somebody there who can do it right.

Or, they could be telling you the truth. It sounds like maybe it needs a wetsand/buff. The dirt in the paint can usually be easily removed by denibbing it. Take it back like they asked you to so they can finish the job. Calmly let them know that while it's there, you need them to make sure they get it all out. If it's still not right, then it may be time to get angry. Good luck.

You're probably right. I'm just a bit disappointed, but they are trying to do a good job and I should let them finish what they started. I will let everyone know how it turns out.

Don't stress over it... YET.

Give them a chance to make it right, especially if you have been there before.

Taking the parts off and going back? DON'T. You spent your $$$ on the parts, now see it through - you'll be glad you did.

P.S. - You will LOVE the GT500 spoiler!! It makes a TON of difference to the back end - MUCH MUCH better than that crappy stock spoiler.

You were right. I took it back and showed them my concerns. They took care of all of it and it looks great. They were very cool about it. Said to bring it back if I found anything.

Thanks everybody!!

Glad it all worked out at the end because I'm doing the GT500 front end and I'm not really crazy about taking off a perfectly good painted factory bumper to have a body shop painted shelby bumper put on. I have a friend who has a body shop but I'am going to pay extra and have it done at a Ford dealerships body shop so if they do screw up I have some recourse. Wii post new pix when finished.

Mellow - That is the best grill/fogs/pony combo I've seen.

Pics! It is not quite done. I still need the Shelby GT grill insert, so I have a bit of the Mad Max look right now. The blackout on the tail is a magnetic piece. I am thinking of changing it to a decal that goes up a bit higher.
