To paint or not to paint?
Here is my problem, well sort of. The paint on my hood was bubbling up and not looking good. Instead of getting it painted I decided to go with a carbon fiber hood. Here is a pic.
Now onto my problem, I have fenders that are scratched and I really liked the vented ones I saw on TruFiber's website. I decided to buy the carbon fiber ones to match the hood. I took advantage of a sale at Stage3 Motorsports, total was $597, not bad. It was cheaper than having my fenders professionally painted.
I can't decide whether or not to paint the fenders black. I like the carbon fiber look but even my son says it's "rice". My Stang isn't stock so I think I can overlook the racer boy comments. After this my next mod is Hot Rod cams and long tube headers.
Let me know what you guys think.

The driver side fender had a slight crack/chip on the corner that meets the door but I think it can be fixed where it won't be noticable. I called Stage3 Motorsports and informed them last Friday when they were delivered. They were packaged pretty good so I think it happened before they shipped them. I noted the damage on the bill of landing and sent the pics to Stage3. Hopefully they get back to my by Friday because it should be around 55 this weekend and I want to install the fenders.
When I'm done I'll post more pics.

The good thing about this situation is you can put it on and see how it looks. It's already finished, so it won't look trashy like some ricers with all the unpainted body kits. If you don't like it after a while, paint them.
I think it would look killer to have the vents fade from carbon fiber to black if you end up painting them. That would be very cool

Here is what I did and you are welcome to do it, I had my buddies body shop clear the parts but I had them add 25% black to the clear so they look black but you can still see the carbon fiber. Best of both worlds
it looks black
you can still the they are carbon fiber, everyone that has seen this really loves the look

Jav, I saw your original post on the hood and that's what made me decide on the Trucarbon hood. Everyone likes the hood but my son and now my wife say the car is going to look bad with the fenders. My daughter says they'll look great, but then again she is daddy's little girl.
The weather should be in the 60's here in NY tomorrow so I'll install them early and take pictures.
