O6 Mustang GT CONV Saleen speedster Tonneau available anywhere?
As you can tell from the name I'm not a Ford guy, so I am ignorant to where I would need to look to find out where or if they even make the Saleen speedster tonneau cover for indivdual sale. My Father-in-law, a big Ford guy, with his mint 57 Baby blue baby bird, recently surprised his wife with a black 06 GT Vert, red interior(rare from what I understand). He is currently looking for a matching crimson light bar and I thought I would surprise them with the tonneau if it was available. Any input or direction on the matter would be greatly appreciated.(please avoid F-body bashing, I am a muscle car enthusiast and I come in peace)
Don't know about the tonneau availability yet, but of course the light bars are available through Classic Design Concepts. I bought mine through Steeda and saved a few bucks. I've installed about five of them and the new ones are an easy install.
BTW, the Saleen tonneau was available from Haney motorsport, but it isn't on their website anymore.
And, saleen advertises it in MM&FF. It costs about $1000 unpainted, plus shipping
Here is one I like, still see back seats thou

446 dollars from 3d carbon.

The saleen tonneau covers are out. They are asking about $1k for them and will work with the Saleen sport bar (I believe it is only available in black) but not the CDC light bar.
RK motor sport also has a 1 piece tonneau cover for about $500 but it does not look like it will work with the CDC light bar either.
The 3D carbon cover will work with the CDC light bar but it does not cover the back set area (I think this is preferable).
The cervini tonneau cover is supposed to be a two piece unit and it is supposed to work with the CDC light bar. I have not seen it yet. The last I heard, they were still working on it.

Believe it or not, the Saleen light bar is made by CDC. All CDC did was use Saleen's specs regarding the angled back part, and then put the "butt up" point on the outside of the bar and in silver, vs. CDC's which is on the inside and in black.
In reality, it *should* work with the CDC bar, as the CDC bar is straight up (assuming that the attachment points are in the same place, and I think they are)

Correct...the RKsport one covers the entire rear area, and looks like it extends all the way to the door jamb. Thus, NO lightbar would work

It doesn't cover the back seat, but does have nice bulges to follow the flow of the rear headrests. But, what's nice is that it does NOT REQUIRE PAINTING!!!! How you see it is how it comes: a textured plastic appearance, which looks (from pics) like it matches the trim around the base of the windows. Unfortunately, it does NOT fit in the trunk, which means no dice for me.

I wish someone would post a pic!!!

Now, for my opinion on the cover: eeeeeek
It looks similar to the RKsport cover or saleen cover. But, it's WAY too tall IMO, and has too many sharp edges. The car is smooth, and as such so should the cover.
Here's a pic of the saleen cover, to give you a good idea of how much taller the Cervini's is:

The Cervini's goes HIGHER than the front headrests...
I still think the 3dcarbon looks the BEST out of all of them, plus it doesn't require painting. I just wish it fit in the trunk.

That's surprising that the Saleen bar is made by CDC, it looks totally different. The saleen light does not have the break lights. The CDC light bars have a piece of black molding along the bottom, and the Saleeen uses a chrome trim piece along the top. Also, the shape of the base on the Saleen styling bar is different then the CDC light bar, it is more square. I hope it fits, the saleen cover is the best looking one in my opinion. Although the price is too high now, I'm hoping that in a few years the price will drop to a resonable price.

That's when they told me that they are actually the manufacturer of the Saleen bar...all they do is make it per Saleen's specs. Not having the LED is very minor...you can choose to not have it on their SN95 bars. With the trim piece, all they do is place that piece along the top and in silver, instead of on the inside and black (eg. the CDC version).
Now, that's what they told me back over a year ago. They (CDC) could have been misinforming me...I'm not sure.
I saw a saleen convertible at out Sunday meet and the sport bar is definitely very similar to the CDC. I could see they are manufactured by the same company. Personally, I like it with the brake lights better and the fact that I get it for 75% less then waht Saleen is asking for their light bar made it even more attractive.
The tonneau cover definitely looks hot. I just can't see spending that kind of money for them. I'll wait until they drop in price.
