Now what the heck do I do?

Hey all,

My new 1/4 window louvers arrived. I bought them from hubcapsplus.com for my 05 Windveil Blue V6. The shade of WVB is just a bit darker than my car and really looks outta place. Is it because my 2 yr old car has faded from the elements or are there really different shades of WVB out there? Does my car need a good polishing to hopefully take out the fade and bring back a darker tone? Do I send them back? Do I have them repainted hoping to get the right tint? Now that spring has arrived I was really looking forward to putting them on but now I'm kinda bummed that my 185 bucks was wasted.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was your solution. Other than the tint problem they look great. No flaws in the paint nor the ABS plastic they're made of.

Today hasn't been a very good day. I bought a bunch of things off the internet and ebay and over half of them have problems with them from a quality standpoint. Argggggggggggh.

If anyone has a possible solution I'd love to hear it.

Thanks
Jeff

Your car is not fading, its just a bad paint match.

+1 I don't see that being to much of a problem. Just explain and take some pictures to show them the difference. Good luck

My tungsten grey has THREE shades in PPG paint. I had to take the gas door in so they could match it to the closest of the THREE. Dont ask me why but if PPG has 3 shades of each color they must be right........

Thanks guys for your help and insight.

I have taken pictures just in case they want to see and I emailed them today regarding the problem.

Gee Hoss, 3 shades of Tungsten grey? I thought that the reason for the name Tungsten Grey over just Grey meant that there was one shade and one shade only. Then WVB must have more than 1 shade also. I might just have to get them painted myself. I will let you know what happens.

You really need to go by the paint code. I actually almost ordered a Tungsten based on a friend's '05. But, the '07 was WAY more silver than the '05.
