News from Fang
I have been asking Fang Performance about their shaker hood and scoop, and here is part of an e-mail they sent me. By the way, they were very responsive to my inquiries and seemed excited about their products. I think I'll wait on my mods a bit and see what comes out...
"...currently no 65 Shelby parts being planned. But we are working on 65 GT flush fit side louvers. The 69-70 Shelby hood is a for sure but not before the end of the year. It will include new longer front fenders. The same for the 71 Mach hood. We have not figured out how to do the full width tail lights yet but we are working on a Shelby style trunk lid and quarter extension to go with our 67 and 68 Shelby style hoods and authentic side scoops. Both of those hoods will include front fender extensions. The 67 will be out first. Let me know what we can do for you. I have been wanting to do the boss look, here is a picture of a yellow car we did the 69 style blackout on the hood. Picture this with a good looking C stripe, blacked out stock rear spoiler/decklid and a set of rear window louvers..."

Rear window louvers on a vert? Hmmmm.......
The parts sound good though. And that hood looks great.
Not sure about how the front fender extensions will work though.
Can't wait to see how their parts come out.

Not too sure about the fender extensions (the Saleen ones looked terible), but it would be nice if someone could do a set of flush mount side louvers. All the ones out right now look ridiculous, IMO.
The hood above looks pretty good though. It's different anyway.
I think they should work on a ducktail. One that's more accurate than all the ones available now.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
Man, that looks so good! It's got a ducktail to boot.
This shaker / hood combo looks so much better than the CDC shaker with the factory hood.
Got to agree with Brad on the hood pins. The 69 style would look better IMO.
Love the 69 hood paint scheme too.
Can you guys guess that I'm kinda partial to the 69 Mach 1 and Boss?

Here are some more pics. Personally I prefer the looks of the CDC but it sits too far from the windshield. FANG's are is routed between the 2 layers in the hood and exits just about the factory air filter.
That's exactly what I had in mind with my sonic blue 05, Mark. But will it look ok with a black shaker? Should the shaker be silver also? How about shaker and stripe in a color to match the bullits?
My photo editing skills are lacking + I had to do it on MS paint, but here is what I'm thinking.
I borrowed Adrenlin's car to simulate Vista Blue.
I like the Black Shaker because that the original color. I know some may think it clashes with the silver stripe but it works for me.
I think that Vista Blue may be too dark to go with black stripes (I could be wrong).
Grabber blue and black stripes would look awesome. Maybe in 07?

I plan on getting a shaker for mine. However I was thinking on still keeping the lemans stripes and painting the shaker to match. Not sure yet though about that idea, but hey, it is an idea.
and Mark, stop stealing my car

That yellow "FANG" car was in my class for the at the Nationals MCA Show this past weekend. Very cool car. I took pics. ( and 1st place)..........I can post later. There was also a redfire coupe GT with just the Vortech supercharger with no shaker.
Oh, and the hoodd pins actually look pretty good IMO. They are flush mounted and are very functional.

Pics Please!!!
I personally love the twist type hood pins. Does anyone know if these can be installed on any hood? I'm going to go after market eventually but I was curious if these could be installed on the stock hood.
I would get a shaker if I KNEW that it was paintable. I asked once on the forums if the shaker was something that you could paing (yes, you could paint anything but can you paint it and it stick and look good).
Also, I like the fact that the Fang shaker is further back in the hood but it doesn't pipe the cool air directly to the air intake area. It just prints cool air into the engine compartment.
I like the fact that the CDC shaker pipes the air but is it available yet? Also it looks a little funny in the middle of the hood the way it is.
Finally, I have wondered if a Shaker would fit underneath a Roush Hood scoop. I think the Roush hood scoop looks great. And if a shaker fit underneath it would be perfect (in my opinion).

CDC's shaker is not available yet. Placing a scoop above the shaker doesn't make sense to me. The reason for the shaker is not just for ram air but so you also see it move. Covering up defeats this purpose. I am sure someone could come up with a kit, along the style of the shaker without the scoop so when the hood is down the air forced through something like the roush scoop would go directly to the air filter. Now that would be cool.
