OK, so here's the new summer wheels/tires on the GTA, right in the dead of winter. But....sunny and no snow today so it was time to put them on to see what they look like. Wheels are Shuk (made by ASA/Weds) W21's, 2 piece modular, Fronts 18x8 with 43 offset on BFG KDW 2's 255/45/18's, Rears are 18x9's with 45 offset on 285/40/18's. The wheels seem to be excellent quality, really nicely finished.

Observations:

1) These tires on these rim widths fit perfectly
2) Pony Centre Caps from the 05/06 Bullitt wheel fit perfectly
3) Width and offset of back rims is perfect
4) Width and offset of front rims is.....I dunno?????? Your thoughts??

5) Despite the seemingly narrower front track, handling is impressive, night and day compared to the stock Pirelli's that were on the Magnums. Took a bit of work to get the tires warm but once they were, I was impressed.
6) These BFG KDW 2's are noticeably noisier than the stock tires....but not obnoxious. I'm sure they'll get better as they wear a bit and the temp goes up (it was just above freezing here today)

So if you have a few seconds, your comments on the "fronts" would be appreciated. The bottom left pic taken from back to front gives you an idea of how inset the fronts are compared to some others I've seen. Maybe I shouldn't have gone "staggared" and put the same, wider 18x9's up front. Or maybe I'm dillusional 'cause the handling is way better than stock, perhaps the car suits this setup???

Anyone??? With thanks. Here's a few pics for reference

I like the stagered. They look great. I wouldn't change anything. I like the black chin spoiler. Did you replace the side trim??? looks like v6. I'm running stagered with 8.5x19s upfront and 9.5x19s in the rear, and am thinking about going to 10.5 in the rear... and I agree i think it is a great setup...

I think the wheels look fine. I still prefer the Magnums over anything else though.

Yeah, but you're predjudiced Justin. But not to worry, my Magnums aren't going anywhere, they're for special occasions. Just what they are, I don't know yet, but I'll think of something.

Thanks - Mark

Thanks Kevin. The Magnums are from www.wheelvintiques.com, a California repro company.

Mark,

how many sets of wheels have you gone through on your car?

I love the look of those new wheels, I may do something similar down the road

Wheels are sort of like shoes to me Steve. Sadly I'm addicted to both. But just think about what a great garage sale I'll be able to have someday. This flippin' car has been nothing but a pit.....but I love it!!!!! Can't take 'em with us, can we !

But the best is yet to come.....wait'll ya see what's up for March/April. Can't wait............

Now Jay, let's have some consideration for those of us who live in crappy climates with sand and teeny, tiny, aggravating stones left over from our winters littering our roads well into the spring and summer. Not to mention what it's like this time of year if you care to venture out. Alot of times it's a mess driving around here, especially during season changes so a set of mud flaps saves alot of whining and complaining (and fixing too) over debris being kicked up into the paint.

I know they ain't pretty (to some) but they're a necessity.

Those look good, Mark. I really like the side stripe and GTA badging on the Legend Lime. Even more retro! Sweet!
