New Stripes, Wheels, Shaker, CDC Chin Spoiler and More!!!!!

I finally finished a bunch of new mods. I completely re-did my stripes. Used Baltimore Street Mods 10" with 1" pin stripes. Thanks to Rob at BSM for sending me replacement bumper stripes when I messed them up on the install. I am a lot happier with these stripes compared with my last ones. Since this was my second install I think I did a much better job keeping the gap uniform and getting the bubbles out.

Attachment 11753

I put on my BSM GT 300 side stripes and replaced my GT emblems with 4.6 High Performance emblems. I also put on Hurst Equipped badges. I know some people will think this is too much but I like them.

Attachment 11749

I put on FRPP Chrome Mach 1 wheels that I got off ebay for $436 shipped!!! I kept the stock tires on but will go bigger when they wear out.

Attachment 11750

I put on the CDC Classic Chin Spoiler that I got painted WB. Hats of to Baltimore Street Mods again for making pre-cut stripes for the CDC Chin Spoiler. I also got my MRT Hood Strut brackets painted WB while they were painting the spoiler.

I added the CDC Shaker System and attached it to my C&L CAI. Had to get some parts at Auto Zone to make it all work.

Attachment 11751

Did my FRPP Hood Pins a few weeks ago and installed a Hurst Shifter with Chrome Stick and White ****, GT 500 pedals and Steeda Underdrive Pulleys.

I removed my BMR LCA's and I have some Steeda LCA's on order. I'm going to the track in a few weeks and I may get some Steeda UCA's if I still have wheel hop.

I think my next mod will be 4.10 gears then I may save up for Kooks LT headers and X pipe with high flow cats.

Very nice list of mods and well done. I also had the BMR LCA's, but they were too noisy with knocking sounds over bumps and still had the wheel hop, so I swapped out to the Steeda LCA's, much quiter, but I still have wheel hop. I have the Steeda UCA's in the garage waiting to be installed.

I'm thinking about getting the FRPP hood pins as well, how hard was it to line up the pins with the holes?

I like the stripes, but I think 1" pin stripes are a little wide. I decided to go without the pin stripes at all, though I did consider it for a while.

But nice list and looks great!

Thanks Hatchman. I took the BMR LCA's off for the same reason.

The hood pins weren't hard to line up. After I got them mounted I just put some red paint on the end to mark where they touch the hood and drilled. You can drill the hole a litte bigger than you need because when you install the plates they will cover the bigger hole. I used nuts and bolts to hold the plates but since the hood is double layered I had to drill out the holes in the inside layer bigger otherwise when you tighten the bolts it pulls the hood in causing a dent around the plates. The FRPP pins are a little short so I had to lower the bump stops a little. I thought about getting some longer pins but all the ones I found had smaller holes for the retaining pins and I wanted to use the FRPP retaining pins. I used instructions that I found here to install them but I don't have the link anymore.

As for the pin stripes, I was going to do the BSM Super Stripe with 1" pin stripes but they don't have them precut for the CDC Chin Spoiler so I went with these.

Thanks for the tips on the pins. I really want the pins, but don't want the dreaded dimples. Thanks!!

Again, car looks great!!!!

Car looks amazing. Although I agree with hatchman the 1" pinstripe looks a little wide. Check out "Tom281" car. He has a shaker hood and rally stripes too but he went with a 1/4 or 1/2 inch pinstripe. I suggest getting rid of one of the emblems the fender. Looks to busy with the gt300 stripe, hurst emblem and 4.6 emblems.

Thanks, I decided to do pin stripes because of how good they looked on Tom281's car but I went with 1" to look a little different. I know most won't like the badges but I like them.

It looks great, with the exception of all the badges. Overkill for me.

Overall, I really like it. And personally, i don't think the badges are overkill. It's different, it'll make you stand out in a crowd in a good way and most importantly, YOU like it.

Congrats!

Kirby,

When you replaced the GT emblems with 4.6 High Performance emblems, what did you do with the holes (I'm assuming the 4.6 emblems didn't have any mounting pins)?

I've thought about doing the same thing (4.6 supercharged), but wondered if I would need to do anything to the holes to prevent rust.

Car looks nice and I will update it in the stripes spreadsheet next month.

Your stripes turned out nice. You got excellent results.

I want to do BSM stripes very badly. But the installation stories keep scaring me. Since the bumpers are the difficult part, I'm tempted to do stripes but only on the hood, roof, and rear deck lid and avoid wraping the bumpers. Would that look incomplete? Or would that look too much like camaro stripes?

I didn't have to do anything to the holes. They are painted so I don't believe they will rust. The 4.6 emblems didn't have pins, just 3M tape. I just lined them up so they covered up both holes. I didn't take any pics but the 4.6 emblems covered the holes with no problems.

Your car looks terrific dude! Just a tip for the chin spoiler. Go out and purchase the "delicate type" 3M Blue Painters Tape. When you take a long drive, tape the entire width of the Chin, you'll thank me later. I just put mine on, and it is a rock catcher.

Thanks, I never considered anything other than complete stripes. The bumpers are a PITA but if you take your time you can do it. Be careful using a heatgun/hair dryer, I messed up once and Rob at BSM sent me replacement pieces very quickly.

Nice freakin' ride! Great job on all the mods!

I added the CDC Shaker System and attached it to my C&L CAI. Had to get some parts at Auto Zone to make it all work.
May I inquire on what parts you needed to make it work? I have the Shaker installed with a C&L CAI and X2 on the way from Doug. Would love to know what I need ahead of time.

Thanks and again great job!

Thanks,

I bought the flexible hose at AutoZone. They had them in black, blue, and red. I tried using the lower air tube that came with the shaker but it was too long. I cut the portion of the lower air tube that connects to the air box off and used it with the flexible hose. Here are a couple of pics. I know my engine compartment is dirty, I plan to clean it this weekend.
