SSE Duck Tail @ Cal-Mustang

It's $320, but they went up on the CDC version. It's $313. Was $295. Same price as CDC has it for.

Looks great.

I've always wondered this. When was the first model year the ducktail came out on originally?

OK, call me a novice, but if it is applied with double sided 3M tape......it seems as if there is a possibility that it could fall off. Am I naive here? Is double sided tape alot better than I am giving it credit for?

I still think this part (yellow arrow) is flimsy and weak and it just curls like a mad man. You can see it pulling away in this pic and every other one posted of this Ducktail

Well, that's nice to see it with the brake light visible, but I agree that the bottoms look a little cheap. I think I've decided to go with the Westrenz / 3D Carbon ducktail (part number 691021 for $329.00 from 3DCarbon).

Here's a rear shot of it.

Yeah, I posted that same side picture in another thread (it's around here somewhere).

Not sure how it attaches, I'll ask them.

Actually, it's not curling...it's part of the way the piece is constructed. There is a bit of a lip that remains because of the shape. I am not sure if it was a style or manufacturing decision to produce it that way, but it does fit without backing away from the car surface.

Does anyone have front view of this spoiler? I wonder how the gaps look where it meets the body. Also, wonder if I can use it since I already have the factory spoiler (once removed of course).

So far this is my favorite, especially now that they made use of the 3rd brake light.

It looks to me the "flimsy" side piece is to provide a seamless look until it gets down to the cars existing break for the rear bumper.

That 3M (outdoors, gray, double sided, foam sticky tape) is pretty good stuff.

Sorry for all the ?s This is one of the few mods I'm interested in making (to the exterior).

Can you provide where you are ordering from? I browsed through the Westrenz website and the info provided is for dealers. Thanks.

Looks like you might be able to use this 3D carbon wing with a lid that had a factory wing without filling the holes maybe.

Here's a link to another thread on the spoiler.
Also, I have emailed SS asking for more pics.

Doesn't look nearly as good at this angle. A little too steep for my taste.

Edit: Click on the pic for a larger image.

I agree. heck from that angle it looks photochopped on there.
He did say the real thing would look better.
We'll just have to wait and see.
It's enough for me to hold off on buying the CDC version.

Yeah I think that's a photoshop jon there. Nothing on the spoiler looks right from this angle.

Yeah. Notice there's not much (if any) gap between the two sections where the trunk and fender meet. Compare it to the gap between the trunk and fender itself.

1 Bullitt,

I got the picture and part number by e-mailing 3D Carbon. I was told elsewhere in the forums they were selling the Westrenz stuff, and sure enough, got 2 pictures, a part number, and price from info@3dcarbon.com.

Here's a little more info on the Westrenz/3DCarbon ducktail, from Patti Koesling at 3D Carbon.

"This spoiler is attached with 3M double sided tape. It is very small and light so no extra screws are needed for installation."

I also asked about a dealer in the Detroit Area, so I could get this put on for the Pony Drive when I pick up my car, and here's her reply -

"Sorry to say that we do not have a dealer in Detroit right now. We are looking to sign someone up soon though. When you are ready to order, please let me know. If you have a shipping address that you prefer to ship to that would be more convenient to you, we can do that for you.

(I sent her the ponydrive link as well)

Thanks for the link. That looks like it will be a lot of fun!"
