New Rims - Now a shimmy in the car

Gofarlow: Glad to hear you're rolling without the shimmy
I figured that was the culprit since you'd already paid or balancing and an alignment. I didn't realize mine were still on until about 110 at the end of the dragstrip when I hit the brakes and almost hit the wall.
Well I did a little cleaning on mine today. I figured it would be a good time to do the inside of my wheels and put a nice coat of wax on there. I had one clip on each corner. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet, but I'm hoping that it will take care of mine. We should have a moderator make a sticky for those that purchase aftermarket wheels. I wouldn't have even thought that unless I had seen this post and just read through.

As Paul Harvey used to say!
NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY!

Wouldn't that retaining clip cause the wheel to sit wrong anyway?? Just thinking the shop or person installing would notice it not sitting right (now i'm gonna check mine just for sheeeeets and giggles).
Sounds like you found the prob..good deal...If by chance it still happens, dont forget to check the bands from your tpms. They can come loose and spin on your wheel while driving. just my .02

I had the same problem with my foose wheels. I found out that our cars are Lug centric and most aftermarket wheels are hub centric. I picked up a set of hub rings for around $30 and that solved my problem.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I had the same issue on another car about ten years ago when I put aftermarket wheels on it. Removed the Tinnerman nuts and the problem was solved. I'll have to remember to check for them on my Mustangs before putting aftermarket wheels on. Good to have the reminder.
Well boys I removed mine and drove about 100 miles this weekend. The vibration is still there. I can't say that I notice any differance at all after removing the tinnerman nuts. Do my cs-69's need some of those hub rings?
