I just about have a finished prototype of a "281" fender emblem that would replace the stock "GT" on both fenders. I was originally doing this for my car as a one off bit but Im begining to see that the graphic design may be accepted by the mainstream.

Once im done with the final hand sanding of the plastic piece i'll have it painted in chrome and temp taped to the stock location. The finished product will have the option of a pair of alignment pegs so it could possibly be mounted elsewhere.

My question to you folks...
Would you rather see the final CNCed product made from Billet Aluminum or Plastic?

I will post pictures of the badge/emblem tomorrow afternoon.

What kind of badge are you folks more interested in? "4.6 SOHC", "4.6 3V", "GT" even, is the above type font attractive to you folks?

Dan, I was a special order jeweler for 15+ years and I'd make them myself if I still had the tools but this is what I'd like to see with "281" in place of the 5.0/302. Thanks.

Reminds me of the Cavalier Z24 logo. Sorry.

281 lettering would look cool on a rocker panel stripe instead of a fake GT350.

I like the idea of 281, but I can't say I like the font. It needs to be more retro.

Don't like it all.

The one Dark Horse posted however would look great.

Great job, and an "A" for initiative, but too modern looking. Agree with the others that retro is the way to go.

Way to go! But I have to agree with others that it does not "feel right" to me. Very nice work, just not the look I would expect.

Kinda looks like Z81. Too modern for my taste, I'm sticking with 60's style only. I always appreciate new ideas though. I may not like it, but good job on it.

I am toying with the idea of putting this early Shelby 289 Cobra emblem on mine.

Or you could just get these guys to do it or buy there ready made emblems. The V6 245 and 4.0 look pretty sweet. Going to get them for my Plenum cover if Midwest ever finishes the V6 version.

Sean,

Autobadges.com badges are not very good. I just returned a 4.6 set.
