Hey Guy's , I got my new 71 Mach1 twist style hood pins installed. I like them so much better than the FRPP pins I had before. Hope you guy's like them too ...

those are nice!! I got mine from Steeda. So far so good, 1 concern though with the ones you got. Can the tops of the pins be taken? I mean if your parked somewhere could anyone just take the tops and run off with them???

I assume you mean the piece that you turn. It would be hard to do unless you get the car unlocked and release the hood latch. Otherwise when you tried to unscrew the piece , you'd just be unlocking the pin and once you unlock it it just turns freely. If you release the hood latch so there's pressure on the pins , then you might be able to unscrew the piece from the pin.

1) I got them from Mustangs Unlimited. It was a kit , but I think my shop didn't use one of the pieces , so you could by it by the piece for less ...

2) Actually I didn't get them back and I forgot to ask for them ...

3) I'm not sure about the size for the hole. I assume the shop measured the piece and made the hole size accordingly. It's a lot of work to get the pins to line up with the brackets , since you really have 2 angles on the hood to deal with. This is not something I would attempt myself , I took it to the shop that does all of Steeda's work. They're the only authorized Maserati and Ferrari collision and body shop around , so they do excellent work. Of course they charge accordingly ...
