Need tips for painting edges around tail lights

There was a thread a while back that showed a great job of painting the surrounding edges around the tail light lenses in black. It set them off very well. I'd like to do that myself, but I don't look forward to removing both tail light assemblies. I've done it, and know how to do it, but it is a pain. Can that detail painting be done without removing the assemblies? Any tips?

LEO 06GT is the one that painted them with them off. Shoot him a PM. Some of the other POTR guys have done it too.

Thanks - I couldn't remember who - I'll contact him

I'll check with him. Of course he did it the right way. I'm just being lazy and thinking of ways not to have to remove the trunk liner and get at those nuts on the bottom.

But then you'd have no tail lights, and how would people know you're stopping and...

...wait... oh. You mean take them off, then paint them, then put them back. Got it. My bad.
