Maybe I should have posted here to start with. Need some ideas on wheels. Looking at getting a 05 triple black vert but need some ideas on what wheels to put on it. I was thinking of the new welds but they are 600 dollars a peice from what I saw .

Andy, you have practically opened up a can of worms. many choices.
sam, nice recommendations.
Andy, if you can stand to go 18s, then i think Mach 1s would look killer w/ the sloping 05's rear window it will give your ride a circa '69 look. afswheels.com has 18x9s with the '05/'06 offset NOW. at a later date, which has no ETA yet, afs will have a 18x10.5" rear mach 1 wheel to compliment it. you can mount a 315/30-18 out back and have the OMG look. if you prefer going the same all around, then 275/35-18s on four 18x9s will look dynamite too. These wheels are inexpensive.

in 20", zenetti's 5 is the closest to a mach 1 look.
http://www.zenetti.com/html/2005/index.php...20SILVER&carID=
the axis GTR, especially made for the '05 mustang, is hot imho.
http://www.axiswheels.com/wheels/gt-r/gt-r.html
the mille miglia EV-R in 19" looks suprisingly nicer on the '05 then anyone envisions. saw a pic of a '05 w/ them on.
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/DisplayWhee...ht+Silver+Paint
weds. 18" largest, but very light. 18Lbs i believe.
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/DisplayWhee...ht+Grey+Painted
ROH Drift Rs in 19" look good. so do the RTs, as same pointed out. i think they have a black ice finish available on this wheel which would look KILLER on some '05 colors.
http://www.jdwheels.com/roh.htm
i'm running Foose Nitrous in 20". might go 22" in the rear that they just released supposedly.
http://www.mhtwheels.com/wheel.cfm?brand=4&cat=112
boyd smoothie IIs are nice. but they are up there with weld on price. they have pretty aggressive lips. you should do a search on wldchic. her black '05 is awesome.
http://www.billetwheel.com/cgi/wheels.cgi?...ries&img=2&tn=1
ironically i will be switching to weld's forgestar 850s seen in my avatar. i want the forged lightness, non-chrome, one-piece features.
hey Andy, just give us a clue as to what wheels appeal to you such as bullit or mach 1 for example and the suggestions will follow. try and hone in on what size rim definitely too. decide on 19s or 20s to help us narrow choices down also. if you are set on 19F & 20R then say you are firm on that if possible. otherwise we cannot narrow down our recommendations.
foremost clue us in on your taste in wheel looks. that will help us greatly in aiding you. tell me which wheel, if any, above appeals to you and i'll post up pics of them on the '05 if i have them.
sorry for the long post. i tend to get a little long-winded sometimes. does it show?
to all others, have a nice and safe 4th of july. join me in praying for our troops.

Wow... those 18x9 Mach 1 style wheels would look right at home on the 05 Mustang. I hate having to plan where I'm spending my money.

I think the machs may be all me. Do you happen to have any pics of cars with the 18*10 in the rear? Yes I was planning on lowering it and tinting the windows. If this gives you any idea of what I like. My 00 gt had 17*9 chrome steeda ultralights on it.

Andy, the mach 1 wheels are the bomb. they are off the hook on the '05. Right on for you.
the 18x10.5s are not out yet. there is no ETA on them yet. man, 9s with 275/35 rubber on the front and 10.5s with 315 rubber on the rear would be insane.
here's the deal. i believe nearly all if not all of the 18x9 bullit/mach 1 wheels for the '05/'06s have a 36mm offset. many places have the 18x9s for the '05 in stock now, but in the bullit style. so far, i know of only afs wheels who has the mach 1 wheel in the proper 36mm offset for the '05s. i'm not saying others don't.
the offset on 18x10.5s will be in the 40+mm range.
the reason why i concentrate on afs wheels is because i believe from reading many other threads on bullit/mach 1 wheels, that afs wheels actually manufacturers their wheels along with wheel replicas. AND as far as i know, afs wheels so far is the only place scheduled to come out with a wider mach 1 wheel than 18x9.

i'd give it another month for the 18x10.5 wheel to be available too. it's anyones guess. you can email afs wheels. it's been about three weeks now since they notified me they have not ETA on the 10.5 mach 1s. real nice ppl there from my correspondence with them.

the pics i post up will be a '05 with the older offset- 24mm. to me, it actually works. still i'd like to see it with an eibach pro suspension setup. so far, this car is the only '05 i've seen with mach 1s on. i'll post up next some photoshop pics of '05s w/ mach 1s.
