Have a 2007 GT/CS RedFire Vert. Looking for a Bra to protect the front for the winter. Does anyone know if one is made for the CS?

 

Ford offers a 3M tape clear bra that looks sweet

 

Don't get a cloth bra it will ruin your paint. Crap get stuck under it and it flaps around in the wind. Get the clear bra, you can't see it and it works great all year round. Just my opinion, I've had both and the clear is the way to go

 

It totally depends on the climate where you live and your car washing/waxing habits. My previous Mustang was a 98 Vert. It was white and had a front end mask on it for two years with ZERO paint damage or discoloration.

 

I am working on my 05 GT bra to fit my GT/CS and I don't use it always for flap/grit under or fading people that leave them on 24-7 will get uneven fading yuck I would only use for like highway travel on the most part, when & if I get mine redone I'll picture it by steps , but hang in someone will do them.

 

This has been my main concern since March 2007.

There is not a "bra" made at this time for the GT/CS, or Shelby GT front Facia. However there are bra's for the GT 500's.

What is this Ford Clear 3m that has been mentioned?

I resently bought a bra for my GT/CS, for the hood only.

Here are the pics. When I pulled up, I didnt even think they were done with it. I couldnt see it until I got about a ft away. This kit covers up the hood and stops before the scoop, over the lens covers of the lights, on the front side fenders, inside the door handle (scratch marks pretty common there), around the key latch on drivers door handle and also on the opening of the door (so if you open your door and bump something, it wont chip the paint, etc).

You might have to save and then zoom in. Sorry for the weird angles, but its the only way I could make it visable on camera.
P.S. I found out also its "Avery" and not 3M. Apparently 3M is a bit thicker which has caused more dirt/debri to get caught on it.

 

I've seen a few cars with the clear bra and it seems bulletproof. But I'm waiting for the full-body application before I spend my money.

They are pretty sharp.
And any Bra type that you place on your car will mess up the collor. Solution. Take the Bra off and let it breathe

 

Better check these web sites for a gt/cs bra out closely as I haven't been able to find a bra manufacturer making a bra for the gt/cs nose. Its different and bigger than the gt grille and I have talked to two manufacturers who tell me they do not have one in the works. A standard gt bra may work but it would have to be stretched. I like to hear from anyone who has put a gt bra on gt/cs and their comments as far as fit.

Ford has a bra that will fit the gt/cs however there is no screen material covering the grill areas instead they've cut openings in the bra (won't keep the bugs or road debri out).
Let me know if actually find a bra.

As for clear bras they look great when they first put on and are clean but over time dirt collects around all the edges and looks badddddddd.

So the questions remains:
Did anyone find a bra for a GT/CS or are you stretching a GT bra over the wider nose of the GT/CS?

When I mentioned the dirt around the clear bra - it takes a while as the material goes thru several cycles of expansion and contraction after being out in the sun then into a colder temp. the adhesive seems to leach around the edges of the clear bra and picks up every bit of dust that gets close.

I'm looking for a bra for my GT/CS also so don't take this as all negative.
I do put a bra on the front of my 1970 Mach when traveling several hundred miles to a car show. It's great to get there and take the bra and not have to clean any dead critters (bugs) off the grille or bumper.

The mustang part dealers like cal-mustang or sacremento-mustang list bras but if you read the fine print they state that the bra will not fit a GT/CS.

So if any of you have found a bra that will actually fit a GT/CS I'm all for getting one.

 

Colgan is now in the process of producing one for the CA Special front end. A number of Shelby GT people lobbied through an e-mail campain and they have a car there they are utilizing as a template.

 

I had the 3M BRA put on by my dealer and they did a fantastic job. Unless someone points it our no one can tell. It really saved the front of the car on a trip over to Elkhart Lake for the ALMS and CHAMP Car race earlier this year. I hav not had any problems with mine. I believe that as long as someone who knows what they are doing. it looks great. See below

 

Ford does not have a bra of anytype at this time that will fit a GT/CS or a
Shelby GT.
Both cars have the same front facia, the Ford GT bra will not fit, tried and returned one to the dealer.

Am now using Tacbears secret formula paint on Bra.

I have just the hood bra and even though it doesn't look great, it protects my hood and windshield from chips and the dreaded Florida love bugs...As far as I know, there isn't a full front bra for the GTCS.

 

I will gladly volunteer our car for a trail model, and deliver it to any location for a bra to be developed for '07 GT/CS's.

This is a needed cause.
