Looks good! I did the same thing a few weeks ago after I noticed how 'goofy' mine looked next to several others that had been shortened. I did not remove the antenna, but simply clipped 8" off of the top and re-attached the tip. I have not noticed any decrease in radio reception either. You gotta love the free mods!

I've got a couple of AM stations and one FM station that I'm borderline on reception on as it is...those couple of inches worry me.

Nope, we're still here on the island. There is a 6 hour time difference so we're just getting ready to eat dinner.

Hey Scott,
Your thread reminded me that I have been wanting to do this mod for a long while. So I went to the garage and did it. Took all of 15 minutes. Radio reception seems the same but I think my 8 tracks sound better now!

I got so tired of looking at the 10 foot antenna on my Stang! I didn't care if my 8 track work as well or not!! By the way do you have any pics of your new wheels and tires from the rear!!! I'd like to see what your 275's look like from the back!!......I love those rear end pic's..

I will get some pics of my rear end for you this weekend. :gay:

I will be out of town on business thru Friday. BTW, I love the Nitto's... they are smooth and quiet.

LOL... Yup did this mod a few weeks after I bought my '05. Just used the dremel to round it and some snips to cut it. Didn't even try to reattach the ball on the top. Looked good without it.
