My first mods on the 08 Stang in Switzerland

Hi folks

I was thinking about modding my Stang long before I got one. Now my first mods are ready:

Painted mirrors.

HID Headlight cleaning system. This is necessary to use HID in Europe so we had to install it.

White Sidemarkers. Nice glowing color I think.

In general I like the Stang as it is but I just want to "improve" some minor flaws which distinct the Stang from the more luxury cars here. A stang is something very special in Europe and everyone thinks it costs like a Porsche or a Corvette, some people even consider it as a Ferrari because of the horse.
So I like to tune my stang into an original but more precious looking car. No spoilers, no hood scoop, side louvres, lowering, and that standard tuning stuff. Just a more exclusive stock stang.
More Mods to come soon...

Looking good Bjoren!!! Who's HID system did you go with. And what is that brick looking thing laying on the garage floor? And why do you need squirters to clean your HID headlights? Sorry for all the questions...I am just curious.

I believe it is law in Switzerland that you have to have headlight cleaners.

Scott,

It's an 08, the HID headlights are an option for 2008. The headlight cleaners are required there.

Its the stock HIDKIT for the 08 Stang, Black GT500 ist right.

And what is that brick looking thing laying on the garage floor?
This is a little parking helper since my wife is storing several boxes and plants behind the car and you can't see them during reverse parking.

This is an obligation from Swiss government, all European Cars with HID have this. Its a custom solution from my garage. I think its from an BMW M5 or something like this.

More Mods:

GT-Appearance-Pack-Chrome Exhaust Tips. Unfortunately every aftermarket exhaust ist illegal in Switzerland.

Midwest Autogear Plenum und Fuel Rail Covers.

Steeda Hood Strut Kit, painted in vista blue.

The painted mirrors in daylight.

A clean look.

Still more to come soon.

looks good! and by the way, it is only illegal if you get caught. i would think if you go with the ford racing/borla or the ford gta's you could say it was an option? i know the borlas says "ford" on it.

Great pix and a beautiful car. [I'd wondered what bugged me more about the stock mirrors: their "not-very-retro" shape or the dull black finish.] The mirrors look great painted. I love the look of your car; clean, not busy. The polished wheels and clear indicator lenses look great with the blue paint. Classy.

Thanks! I didn't like these plastic mirrors from the first time. Was the very first mod I've done. New mini mod:

Hi Ralle, the world is so small isn't it? You know I might still go with the Borlas...just awesome.

@andy
No lowering, no standard Bullitts and of course no stripes! Though I've ordered something very special for upgrading the wheels. Two weeks...

BUT, if you install the GTA muffler off the rental car you would be OK.

Also think they are also on the Shelby GT and SOUND WAY better then stock.

Even the GTA muffler is forbidden here. So when i go illegal then it doesn't matter. But thanks for the advice.

yeah Swiss laws are weird...I lived there for some years but there again they have one of Europe's best Top Fuel Drag Racers. Check him out on ESPN 2 at the next 2 NHRA events "Urs Erbacher" personal good friend of mine as I used to crew with him.

I'm taking my Mustang back to Salzburg Austria next year that's why I'm getting everything done on the car now, if the car enters "as is" most of the time you're ok.
