Now that I've ordered my personalized plates, I need ideas for the best mustang license plate frames. I need suggestions, and pictures (on your car if at all possible!) if you guys have them. Thanks!!

 

I've been wondering the same thing myself.

Also, does anyone have ideas on what kind of plate frames will best protect the surface of the car around them?

 

I have a pair of these that I bought and decided to do something else. SS with the chrome caps that cover the screws on the frame. $35 shipped. LKM~

 

just a plain chrome frame will do fine

 

I plan on getting this one from MGW. They also have it in chrome. At $50 for the black one and $60 for the chrome, it ain't cheap, but I think they look great.

 

While I was searching I found this official Ford OEM one at the Ford Collection web site, I'm going to go with it unless I find something else because it is OEM. It is fairly expensive, but it's chrome plated brass and since Ford is selling it, I'm assuming its sturdy:

This is mine. Bought it off Ebay for less than $20. (Can't remember exactly.)

 

I was looking for something that took me back to my old 65 and 66 but fit in with today. This is what I found at Mustang Ranch in Santa Clara; good and heavy (I've straightened it out) I like the look.

I bought a pair of black metal plate frames at Advance Auto Parts for 15 bucks each, with clear plastic covers. Some longer screws were needed to install them, they had those for a few bucks too. For about 35 bucks in parts it looks great and has a clean and simple look.

I got this one, but in blue writing, looks great!

 

I have that one too............on the front and back, with smoked plastic cover. Looks great. Quality is excellent. Ebay purchase. Guys there are very nice. Shipping is fast.

 

You can get a ticket in Florida for having any wording on your license plate covered up.
