I received a reply from MRT as to the way their louvers will attach to the quarter windows. Here it is:

"Hello, Mark. I spoke with our design engineer and he said the side louvers
attach via a bracket bonded to the window glass. We include attachment
bolts to attach the louver to the bracket. This design will allow you to
easily clean the window without destroying the louvers."

Sounds like they'll be permanently affixed at one side (or top or bottom) by the bracket and 3M tape and then snugged down somehow (only to be revealed in their instructions) on the other. To clean, sounds like you'll be partially swinging the louver away from the glass.

As for theft - no different from any other add on to our cars. If someone wants them - glued, taped, bolted or otherwise - they'll get 'em.

Hope this helps, Mark.

Very good info Mark, Thanks!

This is nice to hear, both because it's good to know that someone was thinking ahead with the cleaning issue, and because those are my favorite design for "sumulated 1/4 vents".

That is pretty much the same info I got from MRT. I'd guess that the bracket is bonded to the window using 3M tape then the louver fits over this and attached with torx head screws or something of their own design (probably down in the slats to conceal them somewhat, unlike Roush's exposed fasteners). If it's a screw/bolt head design of their own I'd suspect that they'll supply a tool.

most people who would see them would not think,
"hey, look at those 1/4 louvers, I bet they would be easy to steal," unless crime is a lot worse in the places you live than it is here

I think MRT did the best job designing them out of the aftermarket companies. Good luck with them to all who have 05 stangs

Yeah, I hear ya. Who's gonna want to steal 1/4 window louvers. I would be a lot more worried about my rims, stereo system or even the whole car getting jacked before I started worrying about the louvers.

Yup, ordered (pre-ordered actually) them today, $189.00. MRT says they should be ready to be shipped by the end of February. There's probably a few lucky people out there that actually have a car to put them on, hopefully they'll post a few pics when they come in and talk about the install first hand. My car is just a VIN right now but hopefully.......

And Jerry......Stoney Creek is about 3 hrs from Peterborough.

Regards, Mark.
