mr bodykit big ram air hood.
Well it looks warped and crooked in the front. If Mr Bodykit doesn't want to help you out just put it on craigslist and get something different. There are quite a few things I've bought for cars over the years that didn't work out.
thanks for everybody advice and concerns. well i took it to the body shop and the guy working on it said it will take some work but will be able to fix the defects in the hood. we also tried getting the hood on and at first had some issues like a gap between the hood and fenders. and the hood not closing. in the end we were able to get it working. so its in the process of being painted. oh yeah the guy is charging me $700 for everything. i will post a pic once everything is finished.
yeah ordered the hood from mr bodykit. and it took about 3 weeks for it to come in. i also ordered a cobra r bumper, saleen side skirts and rear bumper from them before. and all that cost $250 to ship. i'm from ewa beach.
I gotta be honest, I saw the pics on the first and laughed. It looked like it was all thrown together, especially the billet grille OVER the fogs, barely hanging in. The functional ram air hood, stripes, and GT500 bumper are a HUGE improvement. It looks respectable now. Just please don't put a cobra badge on it.
Man why is everyone bagging on this poor guy? I think it looks great! non functional, so what? is the shelby GT scoop functional? is shelby cs6 hood functional? man give the guy a break!
Good job man! turned out sweet!

I hate to be the one to point out major flaws, but I cannot stand it
. The hood started out bad. The entire front lip was screwed up. There was not one straight edge along it. The finished product isn't much better, but it is painted. The front lip still doesn't fit, especially with the GT500 front end. And the decals used for the "scoops" look like they were put on by a 4 year old! Sorry to say it man, but you got screwed! You could have bought a functional hood with much better lines and fitment from both Cervini's and TruFiber, had it painted, and probably would have spent less money! You can change the color of a turd and it's still a turd.
Doesn't look like much changed before and after the body shop got it except for the color!
The red circles show the major flaws.

It seems like you had some trouble with the hood but let me tell you that its not the only company that has problems. I've seen a lot of problems with TRUFIBER too. Even on this forum, lots of problems. Hoods are always risky in my opinion. Anyway the car looks great, hopefully you can make the scoops functional.
Just an opinion but if I were going to put something with that exaggerated a profile on my car it would have to be functional.
It seems like this would be a better product for a drag only car where body fittment isn't that critical.

So I guess he should sell the hood and start over? Its too late now so make the best of it. If the flaws don't bother you, then say **** it or take it to a pro and let them see what they can do. it probably would be cheaper to get a new hood if you went that route though. At the very least ,fix the faux vents up.

In fact I just did that with a laptop that didn't deliver as promised and cost more than his hood.
If he's happy with it that's all that counts. I think all the negative reaction is likely due to the intial photos showing what appears to be a poorly formed piece of fiberglass. To be fair, it's pretty much a given that any fiberglass body panel is going to need some massaging before fittment.
It just seemed that for what he was promised, the quality was unacceptable due to the amount of massaging that has to be done to get it right.
