Here are some vanity plate ideas I came up with assuming a limit of 8 spaces and at least one of the spaces must be blank or a dash as per Virginia DMV.
Feel free to use any of these that are available in your state. I have chosen one of these already. Enjoy.

68 RETRO
67 RETRO
1960S 05
BULLIT
1964-2K5
1965-2K5
60S STYL
PONY 05
2K5 PONY
RETRO 05
05 STNG (or STANG)
60S RTRO
FSTBAK
GT 05PNY The title should read "plate" instead of "plated", sorry.

I used to have a vanity plate. They can sometimes cause more problems than they solve. Same reason I do not have bumper stickers on my car.

That said, some are real cool.

What kind of problems can you have, having a vanity plate. The best benefit I can think of is when you go to a motel you can always remember your plate #.

What problems did your vanity plate cause 38special?

By the way 06 STANG is already gone in VA.
STANG06 is still there but I didn't like the idea of the implication of 6STANG
on a V-8 anyway.

I have an 06 on order so I better lock up a plate on my LS just to play it safe.

It's not retro
The car design is based on the 1965 to 1969 models. How can you say it is not Retro? The side contour is almost identical to the 68. It has the rear end features of a 60's model including the badge and tri-bar brake lights. The red leather interior, metal in the dash, and wide grille are all a modern version of the 60's.

Don't tell people the obvious; the car, while based on styling cues from the past, is unique to the present time.

How bout if you put sometihng offensive like:

2 fst 4 u = "Too fast for you" (for any1 who didn't pick that up)
-or-
Ricer's stink (if you could somehow fit that in)

might get you a nice kicked in window or a keyed panel on your car. hey, people are easily offended and have anger issues...what can i say.

I had a lady get out of her car in an intersection and ask me about my plate. Scared the ???? out of me. I had notes put on my wiper. Fund raisers asked me for money. I elect to be vanity plate less now.

What was your plate that caused people to think you could just fork over $$?
