Mach 1 style hood stripe

Just wanted to post this here for ya all to see. This is the Mach 1 stripe from ridergraphix, I think it came out nice, gives it a retro look.

Looks good. That's where I got mine. Mine is slightly different though.

That looks great, I was considering the same stripe. Haven't decided yet though. It would have to be silver on Vista Blue for my car.

I might pick up an extra scoop also and just paint it to match but I wanted to make sure I like it before I do that.

I think it will look good but I think you'd need rocker stripes to match also.

This is the stripe I am thinking of getting for mine. I have been torn between doing the full-on lemans stripes and just doing something for the hood. Everyone has done the lemans stripe thing to death so I have been leaning towards something that looks like the 1969-70 models that you don't see as often. This will be much less expensive overall yet still be greatly expressive.

Yeah I'm liking it, I'll probably get the honeycomb panel for the back, and I have louvers for the sides on the way. Only other thing I'd need is a black spoiler for the complete Mach 1 look.

There are other text you can get besides the 281 also, but that's the most like the original Mach 1s

I just put silver fading rockers on. I put 281 badges on the scoop so if I go with these stripes it would be with no text. I contacted ridergraphix and they said they could do that. Here's what I look like right now.......

Yeah I think that would look great, also if you want to cover the scoop, just ask them to send you a piece so you can cut it out. If you decide to go that route and need a template for the scoop let me know I have one I made that I can send you a file of that just covers the top like mine.

Here I mocked it up for you, I think it looks awesome...

BTW are those the Shelby GT Fender emblems? Where did you score those?

Wow, Thanks. That does look good. AS for the emblems, remember last year when someone, I can't remember who put a bunch of the Shelby PBF emblems on ebay for 49.95? They went fast, but I was lucky enough to grab one of the first pair. If I'd only known what they would sell for later, I'd have bought em all!

Looks great Starfire. And I checked out your site, excellent stuff, although no love for the Redfire????? LOL.

I also like the idea of topping the scoop. Any chance of getting a copy of that template? And what would I do, just request a scrap peice from ridergraphix so I can keep the same color?

BTW: How was the install? Do it yourself?

Nice looking stripe!! Who gave you that idea? I couldn't decide if I wanted to stop it before the end of the hood like yours or wrap it over the edge. I had ridergraphix make it longer and wrapped it over.

Kinda following a similar concept.

Now I just need to add my Black Fader stripes I got from Darkfire.

Yeah just give me your email in a PM and I'll send it to ya.

Install wasn't to bad but it'd not the easiest because the hood humps in the middle. I still have a couple small air bubbles but they should work out sitting in the sun for a week or so. Just take your time and it'll be ok.

Yeah I just asked rider to send me a blank piece to cover the scoop, I figured if I like it enough I can get a second scoop and paint it to match.

Yeah I though about that too, but wasn't sure which way to go, I like it both ways, I think it depends on the color also.

That is a hard decision to make. It's Ford's practice for some reason to stop the stripe instead of wrapping it over the edge, for instance like the ones they use on the V6 appearance package and the 2009 WIPstang. However they wrap the stripes on a Shelby.

I looked up the stripe (8R3Z-6320000-AH-2) on Partscheap.com which is for the V6 appearance package and it's a whopping $285 list price with a sale price of $239.

The more I see this stripe style the more I like it.

Looks great! That hood stripe is very similar to the ones on the 03-04 Mach1's. I like the tailstripe too. Hmmmm...
