Lowered Stang...Ouch my Back!!

I just put on the FRPP springs which are the Steeda springs I believe and the FRPP shocks/struts that are supposed to be made for the lowered springs.

The install was really easy and I haven't put the caster/camber plates on which I think I will need to do.

However I can't believe how rough the ride is now!! What has everyone else experienced with their lowered stangs? I especially notice it on the rear suspension.

thanks

I am going to put in new shocks/struts in the near future so I can only comment on the ride with the Steeda springs in; which can be a bit harder but it is to be expected with lowering a car. There will always be a give and take when it comes to the fine line between one's preference of comfort or performance, IMO.

You bought the wrong dampners. The FRPP dampners are in fact designed for a lowered car using the FRPP springs, but that doesn't mean that they were designed to maintain a factory type ride. They are a shorter piston shock designed to work properly with shorter springs.
What you need are a set of Tokico D Spec adjustable shocks so that you can fine tune the firmness of the shocks to achieve the ride quality you are looking for.

I agree with Hawgman...I went with Tokico's D-Specs and it fixed the ride for me but kept the improved handling

did you just buy the rear Tokico shocks? Did you do anything aftermarket for the front? I find the front to be ok but the rear end of my car really hits hard on bumps.

thanks

I have the Progress springs and lca's with an adjustable panhard bar. I am still running the stock shocks since my Tokico's are still on backorder. I must say that I am really impressed with the ride. It is a little harsher, but by no means uncomfortable.

+3 on the D-Specs. Keep them kind of tight when playing, mid-range during daily driving and loosen them when going on long road trips and at the track. Love 'em...

I put Eibach Sportline springs on mine with my stock shocks. Kinda bouncy and tight, yes, but thats what you get with performance. You'll never have a Cadilac ride in a race car.....
