Does anyone know what the offset is on the factory cast aluminum (GT) wheels?

I'm shopping for 18" wheels & tires, and want to keep the tires inside the wheel arches.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Factory GT rims are +45mm on a 17x8 inch rim.

Be careful..w/ a wider rim, the 45 mm offset might be too deep..

18x9 + 36mm offset = ideal

Are you sure the factory wheel is 17x8? A friend of mine was a the Ford house the other day swapping wheels on his car and he had a 9 inch rim and a 8 inch rim laying on the floor next to a new 05 GT rim and it wasn't as wide. He was pretty sure they are 17x7's. I'd like to verify this as I've been trying to get the correct offset for the size wheels that I want.

Thanks Mike

The factory rims are 17x8. I put a set of 18x8 on the front and the rim is the same width. I put 18x10 on the rear. I stuck with a 45mm offset for the rear and went with a 25mm offset for the front.

Adrenalin:

Why the small (25mm) front offset? Are the 255/45s that much wider than the stock 235/55s?

How do you like the G Force tires? Any problem with noise?

Thanks

Bob

G force tires are great. Not much road noise.
As far as the offset, because the rims are only 8" in the front and 10" in the back I wanted them to sit even, or just in by a hair of the wheelwell and in order to do this I needed to have a different offset. The actual backspace on the front wheels is 5.5" and my rear wheels have a bs of 7.25". If I stuck with a 45mm offset on the front they would have set pretty darn far within the wheel well, just like the factory rims and I didn't want that.
