This weekend I decided to make myself a new grill for my Black GT. Now that I have the frame all done, I still need to mount it, make the brackets for my hidden foglights (behind the grill), paint it all black, and then put my chrome pony on it. It will look awesome. I am also going to make the top radiator cover piece myself. It will be my top grill support anyways. I like it, and think it turned out pretty awesome. I will keep you all updated on what happens with it. Later.

Where do you buy that material at? I am looking for the stainless mesh material you see on the Jaguar S-Type R series.

I help run a misc. metals fabrication company, so it is all scrap materials. The frame is 11 Ga. Stainless Steel Plate, and the expanded metal is the same size. I fabricated it, and then had the shop manager weld it all up seamlessly. It looks awesome because you don't see seams between metals. It is all one piece...or so it seems. I don't have pics of it installed yet, because I still have to fabricate mounting brackets for it. I have put it in place though for fitment purposes, and since I have a black car, I think it needs to be black. I will either paint it myself, or get it powdercoated. So far, this was a full day's work, so it will probably be a few more days of working on it before it is completely done. I will keep updated pics up though. Later.

Go with the powder coated IMO. I think it will add alot more class and hold up longer. My company does plastic machining and fab, as well as aluminum so I am dying to get my car and start making things for it. You did a great job on the grill btw

Ok now how about a bracket to mount the front license
plate. Doesn't have to be too complex, just something
that could keep us from having to drill into the front
of the bumper, I am guessing there are more than a
few of us who would be willing to buy these from you.

Oh yeah, the grill looks great, be sure to post more pics
when you get done.

I live in a state (AZ) that does not require a front license plate, so I am not worrying about that. Sorry.

Wanna make money? if you fabricated the front license plate thing you would make a killing in profit just on these forums alone. think about it

Hey I understand completely, you don't have to worry
about the front plate.

My point is, that if someone out there who has the capability
to make such things. Would design and mfg a front plate bracket
that kept us from having to drill holes in our front bumpers. They
could probably make a pretty good profit by selling them to those
of us who do have to deal with the front plate.

I know I would definately be interested in buying one, and I'm sure
there are others that would be interested as well.

Here are some preliminary install pictures and one before picture. Maybe I will just keep it the brushed stainless steel? It does look pretty cool. Then put a black Pony on it. Or maybe some other black emblem? What so you guys think?

Nice. I think it would work better with larger holes or what ever you call it in the grating This is a good start though.

The thing that I would really like everyone to give their opinion on is the finish. Either stay with the brushed stainless steel look and put a black emblem on it, or do I go with a black grill, and a chrome emblem? Let me know what you think. Thanks.
