I still haven't fixed mine yet.

 

I just used steel wool to get the rest of the paint off. Trying to decide what I want to do with it now.

 

I think they changed the fake gas cap. I have an early 05 (got it in dec. 04) and it seems to have a plasic disk over the "GT" logo. I opened the trunk under my overhead parking storage bin at my apartment and it bumped the edge of the bin causing a minor scrape. Paint is intact but the plastic disk was scratched.

I'd have taken it in to get it replaced if the paint peeled on mine.

 

The detailer probably burnt through it with a power buffer.

 

I ordered one of these badges from ebay, I got one with a red pony though.

Same here on my '05. Looks like a black plastic disk on not just black paint. probably to cut some cost.

 

I got the sticker in the mail today, I really like the way it turned out.
