legend chin spoiler...painted and installed

Well I finally got my car back from the shop with it lowered and the chin spoiler painted and installed. I love the way it looks. It is low though, entering my driveway at an angle I only have like a 1/2 inch clearance. If the springs settle I could be in trouble. Do to the angle of the splitter just below the factory piece where it attaches we could not paint the stripes in. Instead I decided on a gloss black, the black compliments the upper and lower grill, and with the gloss the reflection makes it look like the stripes are painted. In fact in the pictures you can't even really tell the stripes are not painted all the way.
By the way if anyone is in the Atlanta metro area and needs some work done the guy I use is incredible. Does beautiful work, really cares what he is working on, and has excellent prices. He has now painted my stripes, painted and installed the window louvers, painted the mirrors, lowered the car, and done the chin spoiler. His name is Jeff Embrey, his shop is Embrey's customotive, and website is www.embreys.net check him out.

Here are some pictures.

hmm i dont know about that one. It bascially looks like they cut the bottom half of another GT front end off and then stuck it under the bottom half of your car.

To each his own, here is a side shot so you can see the profile better. I really like how it juts out and gives a more aggressive look. It is not for everyone though.

I may have overstated the clearence issue. My other car is an Suv and I have never dealt with a car that low. It will just take a little getting used to. I think if I take large bumps at an angle everything will be fine. I would say it sticks down about 1 1/2 to 2 inches below the stock piece.

Hey Scott, its Jeff, how's it going? The spoiler looks REAL GOOD dude! Sorry to hear about the clearance issues. I's be scared to death if my car was that low. I guess its why I never lowered mine, and never will, since adding the CDC Classic Chin. I now drive VERY carefully. Just a tip for you, go out and purchase some Blue Painters Tape, and put it on the spoiler when your driving long distances on the highway. Trust me, you'll thank me for this. That stuff has saved my chin spoiler from many pebbles, glass shards, and general road debris many times while heading to a show. When I get there, I just peel it off, and wipe the spoiler down. Again, your car looks great! Your painter did a wonderful job.

I can attest to the strength and durability of this chin spoiler. I have (inadvertently) hit parking stops, curbs and graded roads and this thing barely has a scratch on it. No cracks, no creases and only light scratching on the underside.

I did not paint mine, since it comes black and my car is also black, so maybe that helps.

this spoiler has exactly the look I want, it makes the profile more aggressive without being "over the top" like the CDC aggressive. That one looks like the front of a locomotive...

I must admit I found myself going to the garage about three times today looking at it from different angles. My favorite mod so far.
