APC had some on their SEMA car, but moisture had already built up inside them...and that was their SEMA car! I can't imagine how crappy the real product is.

hmm... they don't look that bad... what's important is how they look at night. The S197's factory taillights actually look really good.

Thats exactly what I was thinking galaxie. At night with sequentials, all 3 light up, and really with the design of the cover, they already look like they are led almost. I love the look, so I would have to see how these are at night before I would invest 200 on a mod like this.

I was thinking of getting just the LED drop in bulbs to avoid ever having to pull the taillights again in case of a burned out halogen bulbs.

Since I have the Shaker 1000 pulling the passenger taillight is a major PITA.

Wouldn't this be a cheaper solution than these $200 taillights?

what led bulbs are you talking about first of all? Then how do you expect to drop them in. you have to remove the housing to replace bulbs period. so not really understanding what your talking about.

There are "bulbs" with clusters of LEDs that replace the factory halogen bulbs - they plug in to the stock base.

You can buy the LED bulb replacement kits at Pep Boys for about $15 or so, maybe cheaper on eBay.

Yes, I would have to pull the taillight assemblies one last time to replace the halogens with the LEDs, but since LEDs do not burn out it would be the last time I would have to do this.

I was just curious to know if anyone has done this and if so, was it worth it. The halogen taillight bulbs used to burn out all of the time in my '02, and it's a PITA to change them on my '05.

Here's APC's SEMA car. Like I said, the quality was terrible on what should've been the best set they had.
