Finally got around to installing my Shaker kit today.I've had the thing in the box since November, just wasn't able to cut the hood.I figured I'm never gonna sell the car, so went ahead & did it.
I did a minor mod to the air intake to fit the JLT2 CAI. I used some aircraft ducting called SCAT tubing as I didn't like the elbow the kit comes with.
Total install time was about 8hrs; 6hrs today doing the cutting & install & about 2hrs fitting the shroud to the motor the other night.
Really completes the Red/Black scheme I've been going with on this car.
Few pics here, no cutting pics, fitting pics as there are alot of those already out there.
I've a few minor tweaks to do yet, but the basic install is done for today.
Oh yeah, last mod for me for a while. LOL

Looks good and compliments the whole package.

Is that the JLT heat shield and where did you get the gasket material that is on top?

Thanks for all the great comments. I'm real pleased with the combination.
Last mod until the warranty runs out! Honest.
GRAYPNY, that is the JLT2 heatshield & I used windshield washer rubber tubing split down the middle for the beading on the heat shield.

Shaker Option

Your car looks great, I can't believe Ford didn't make a Mach 1 Mustang Option. This is by far the best mod that can be done to a Mustang in my opinion.

I always get really great comments. I did the red inserts on my heat shiled cover also. I added the MRT rear black louvers and cobra jet script emblems on my shaker.

You'll notice as your car breaks in, that it will pull better in the higher rpm ranges as you speed increases and the exhaust soound on mine got louder.

I didn't by-pass the air flow like your install though. Nice work........

I love my California Dream hood, but every time I see a Shaker, it makes me wonder if I made the right choice. Your car looks great, and reminds me of one of my favorite classics, Calypso Coral '69 Boss 302. (Love the stripe, and Torch is close enough) It's killer as it is, but I'd semi-black the hood and rear panel and add louvers to the rear window to top it off. I know, they didn't have shakers on '69 Bosses, but that's still a great combo. Enjoy it!

Did the rear mods & louvers late last year.
Gonna keep the hood as is for now.

Looks good, I went for the Foose hood instead of cutting, there's something about the aerobump in the Foose hood that just wouldn't stop calling out at me.

I really like the idea of using the hose, I've been looking for a way to make my WMS intake setup work and I think that's the answer. Where did you get it?

I like those hoods, your ride looks great.
The hose is aircraft ducting tubing called SCAT ,comes in all diameters.Only supplier I can think of is Aviall.com,they're located in Dallas I believe.
You might want to check out your local airport, find a shop where they work on the smaller airplanes(Cessna,Piper,Beech etc) They might have some.I got mine @ work.
