keyless entry

you ever been out in the yard and needed in your car for something but didn't have your keys with you? Not that I'm to lasy to walk in to get my keys but here's something I did that I seem to use alot, especially comes in handy on the days you go to the beach and you don't want to keep up with your key, just hide them in your car and lock the door.

Slick idea there Bill. Is that a ford Part? what did you have to do to program it to the car? This sounds like the dealer had to program the unit.

Mine was from the Ford Dealership

Hey,
I have one of those too, but mine isn't attached to the gas door. You have a choice of black or a paintable cover. I had mine color matched. It is great for cold winter days here in Chicago you just keep the car running and lock the doors. It was only $80 at the dealership.

bought the key pad from Ford it's part# 7L2Z 14A626-BA
retails for $85.00, it's RF modulated just like your key fob, you program it the same way, no wires to run, it attaches using 3M tape.

Here's a link to mine. Attached to the cowl. I absolutely love having it. Makes it much easier to get in and out of the trunk.

BTW, I got mine pre-paintable. I believe the new ones are also slightly different with regard to the way the numbers look.

I like the location of that, great idea. Have one of those on the Expedition and use it all the time. I always just leave the keys in the car when going to shows, hunting, fishing and such.

I have been afraid force of habit would cause me to lock the keys in the Mustang.

Just bought the new smaller keypad for my '06. Put in inside the gas door and its perfect there! Never have to worry again about locking the car door with the keys on the floor again. Great mod.

Can you use this to lock the car as well as unlock?

Yes you can. It works just like the remote keyfob. Great security incase you leave your keys in the car and lock the door.

I put mine inside the fuel door too. I left the cover off, because it fit better on my aftermarket fuel door.

Great idea to stick it in the fuel door! However I guess I probably would not justify having it until I actually lock my keys in the car someday...

Then, it would be too late . I use it alot to pop my trunk, if my keys are in my coat not near the car.
