I just purchased some mods for a car that won't arrive for at least 2 months. Foolish? Maybe, but what the heck. :headbang:

Eibach Pro-kit

BF Goodrich GForce KDW NT tires, 255/45-18

I have SERIOUSLY been looking at those same wheels, but can't make up my mind. the tires are a no brainer though. Good choice.
Do you actually have the wheels yet or did you just order them?

I just ordered them yesterday. They told me to expect them in about 2 weeks since they are a new style that has to be ordered.

Did they say if they had the higher offset made yet? I was looking at buying them also but was waiting on the higher offset to fit the 05 gt correctly

The offset for the wheels I ordered is 30mm. I don't know about upcoming specs.

The various sizes and offsets from the retailer that I purchased them from are listed on the following website:

Discount Tire Direct

The 18x8.5 comes with a 40mm offset according to the Discount Tire website.
Also has a 49 if you don't want then to stick out because of the .5" the wider wheel adds.

Yes, you are correct but the model I chose: 18X8.5 5-114.3 30GBM is not listed on the website yet.

I have attempted to calculate the offset to get some idea of the difference. I know this has been discussed extensively here but according to a wheel offset calc. I found referenced on this site, it calculated the outside wheel edge to extend an extra 21mm (.827 in).

Does this sound correct?

ah ok. Sorry I should have read your entire post. I'm looking for the 9.5" wide profil's which weren't made in a high enough offset yet

Why did you choose the +30 over the +40?

Correct me if I am wrong but according to the offset calculator, given a 45mm 8" stock configuration, a 8.5" wheel @ 40mm offset extends 11mm (.433 in) and the 30mm offset extends 21mm (.827 in).

I wanted to decrease the gap from the wheel face to the wheelwell that is present in the stock configuration.

So you want them to be more even with, or maybe stick out past the fenders?

I don't want the wheels to extend beyond the wheelwell lip. I want the stance to look like the following car:

As you may aready know, that car had 1" spacers installed. I hope to get the same effect minus the spacers.

Remember, the lower the number, the more they'll stick out compared to stock.
