Just Installed the Street Scene Center Fog Grill. Question About Pony Emblem.

I got a 3D carbon pony emblem and bracket. The screws in the pack are too short to mount to the grill. Woops. I've seen people use this combo and not say anything about needing longer screws.

I'm simply wanting someone to confirm there experience with this.

Now for some impressions on the grill.
When they say the drivers side fog light is a tight fit, they aren't kidding. I would not call its final resting place adequate clearance. It still touches the metal. Also apparently it is not possible to change the bulbs without removing at least the drivers side clips in the fascia and pulling it out.
It fits best if you don't get the bulb housing popped out of the alignment bracket ever so slightly when you are trying to "push" on the bulb connector as instructed.

That being said, I don't think better fitment would be possible. Maybe if the lights were millimeters more apart.

Finally, what do you do with the cable extensions? They are plenty long and I just left them hanging inside the bumper cover. It was kind of dark while I was doing this but I didn't see a good place to fasten the slack.

I ran up to Lowes and bought longer nuts and bolts to make them fit.

I'm going to get some longer bolts.

Did you notice the fog lights don't set as flush against the opening?
How far back did the driver side light get behind the sheet metal? Mine is kind of under it.

I don't think mine is the Street Scene one. I think it's a cheap knock-off. I had to notch the radiator support with my sawzall to get it to fit.

You must have the KSR. I think it or an early version of it didn't clear the metal. The SS will clear but it rubs the foglight socket/plug.

I'm mainly posting info that I did for people considering a center fog grill.

Am I right in thinking our options are as follows?

KSR
Street Scene
3D Carbon

BTW... installed the pony and it sets off the grill. Will probably get some pictures tomorrow.

yeah, that's my guess too. I got it from Blue Oval Industries. I just bought it this winter. The ad said no modifications required. That was a lie.

Here are a few quick pictures. Got to clean the car up before taking some good ones.

Looks good.

I've got my pony attatched with double sided tape, about 2 years now and still holding well. No bolts at all. Of course, someone could rip it off if they wanted it.

I used a dremel for clearancing the radiator support to clear the driver's side plug connection. And I have the Street Scene as well.

I don't like the idea of cutting on the car. It looks like it would be great if the fog light would just mount pointing to the driver side.

The 3D carbon emblem just has a mount backplate and the pony sticks to the backplate.

my 3D carbon one fit like a dream, came with emblem, I like it a little better as the lights are closer together and stick out a bit further than other ones I've seen.. I just used cable ties to clean up the slack on the extensions to holes in the area near the hod latch, heres a flick if u like, I painted the outer two bars in the pony emblem black to match the theme, people seem to like it

Looks good. Like the emblem. There is a guy with one painted grabber orange and silver here somewhere.

I like the street scene because it is spaced evenly for stripes though.

blak05, what kind of paint did you use to paint the pony emblem? Did you remove the red and blue or did you just paint over them? Someone suggested that I put tri-bar pony emblems on my L and R fenders but paint it black, yellow, black instead of using the red, white, and blue because I have a yellow mustang and my sides are kind of plain and a lot of yellow. I'm actually thinking of doing it as it seems like a simple mod even though I'm not a good painter and wouldn't know what kind of paint to use.

On a side note, I don't like any of the V6 chin spoilers. It's almost like nothing is there. A lot of them are sooo small. I would go for the 3D Carbon Air Dam and is what I'm probably going to get. Either that or a Street Scene front bumper. But that is just my opinion and I've know a lot of 6ers put chin spoilers on and LOVE it!!

I used factory ford touch up paint..the little chrome bars in between the colors are actually raised so its kind of like pouring a small amount of paint in a little alley..the little bit that you get on the chrome wipes right off while its wet, I painted right over the white and red and it adhered fine..the location of mine means it doesnt have to be perfect(kind of shaded by the hood, and its black), but putting them on the sides you'd want to make sure they are perfect..I like the result and say go for it!

I would probably use masking tape and an exacto knife to prep the emblem.

Just went out and adjusted the fog lights. I noticed that the driver side would not go as low as the passenger.

Anyone else experienced this? I'm not entirely sure they needed adjustment with the grill but I messed with one of the screws during install so I had to fix it.
