installing HIDS; does this require taking off bumper?

hi all,
when installing HIDs for both headlights and fogs, does this require taking off the entire bumper?

I think you'll work more comfortably without the bumper. It takes about 20 minutes to take it off...

depends.. are you changing the entire housing? or just adding bulbs and ballasts?? If you are putting just balbs and ballasts I dont see why you would want to remove the bumper other then to place the ballats behind the bumpers

No, you don't need to remove the bumper for those. I have the same ones on mine. Very easy install without removing it.

I have a kit I got from ebay for about a year now and no problems so far (knock on wood) I wanna get a kit for the new Xterra my girl got. We traded in her 05 mustang V6 convertible. It just wasnt partical to have to 05 mustangs in upstate NY.

Almost completely plug and play. I did have to splice the the wires into where the kit connects to the stock wire harness. The plug on the kit that was supposed to plug into the stock wire harness was not the correct plug so i just cut it off and spliced the wires into the stock harness. Other than that it was an easy install.

I have had them installed for about 3 months.

By the way the bumper is very easy to remove as well. I have had mine off.

I don't have any decent pictures but here is another thread about the same HID kit with a few pictures...http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=66122
