I recently installed a set of GT bumpers and rocker panels along with dual exhausts on my V6. It's been a few weeks now but I finally took some pictures last night after washing my car. I know it's dark outside but you can see the car just fine. I will post some daytime pics soon when my bullitt wheels and tires are on. I am very happy with the outcome. I took the factory stripe off the side as I plan on adding a flat back thin-thick-thin stripe along the bottom of the car and a 1970 styled mach-1 type flat black stripe on the hood after I get new wheels. What do you guys think? I am not trying to be a V8, I would never do that. I just think these bumpers look more aggressive and I really wanted the fog lights but they just don't look right in the V6 bumper and I wanted dual exhausts without notching the V6 bumper. I added some pony package emblems to the fenders which I also really like. I had the GT mufflers installed with custom bent exhaust piping with an h-pipe crossover. I am very impressed with the sound too. They are deep and aggressive sounding but not overbearing or obnoxious. I'd say this is the best exhaust system for the money if you can't afford to get a set of brand-name mufflers which I couldn't at the same time as the new bumpers. Anyway, enough rambling. I hope you guys like the car! Let me know what you think!

Brian, thanks for the compliment! I think I may lower it by 3/4" after I get new wheels and tires. I don't want to go too low, just enough to fill the wheel wells out a little more. Would 3/4" be a good amount and around how much would it bewith install?

Hi Frazer,
I have the Eibach Pro-Kit, which is probably about 1.7", and I have never scraped. However, I would say that I have my dual exhausts tucked-up pretty well (at least as high as the rocker panel covers).

In addition, the V6 bumpers tuck under more than the V8, so that I inherently have a better angle of approach and departure. Even with V8 bumpers, I don't think you would have a problem with the 1.5"+ drop, and it would look very nice. These cars are excessively jacked-up from the factory.
The cost for the springs is something like $465 and seems like installation at my local Les Schwab was about $65. If you don't have a front spring compressor, I would recommend at least having the fronts installed professionally. You will also need to get a front-end realignment after the lowering.
Because mine is lowered, I also use Mini-ramps for getting the car jacked-up:

While not a big deal, it is another factor when considering whether or not to lower.
Brian.

Cool, thanks for the info. May be a while before I get around to lowering. Afetr the wheels are done I have to get a CAI and tune to start going faster!!

another option if you dont want to go too low is Steeda springs -about 1in in front and 3/4 in the back....not hard to install at all, and a spring compressor can be rented at AutoZone for under $40 usually...
lets see if I have a pic...

Maybe Some Screws & Bolts

Sure seems like you are trying to look like a V8 to me. You're changing everything on the exterior to a GT but the emblems.
Anyway, it looks good, nice job. Just out of curiousity, aren't you spending more than 7K doing all of this? I take it you wanted a V6 for economy reasons or something like that.

Looking good. There is still something with the fogs that don't seem right to me though. I don't know what it is.
and,
actually, you can get a set of GT take off tires/rims for under 400, a gt body kit take off for under a grand, including the mufflers. So its more liek $1500 instead of 7k.

Thanks for the compliments evryone. I am very ahppy with how the car looks. To '2005 Mustang V6', you will need several conversion parts including new rocker cover tabs, plenty of little screws and bolts etc, new front inner fender linings and more I can't remember exactly. Call Kevin at Clevenger Ford, his member name here is 05stangkc, he will hook you up with everything you need for around 150 dollars. Good luck with your project. Oh, and to Shea, yeah I can see how it may seem as if I am trying to be a V8, but I assure you I'm not! I just like the way the bumpers and wheels look better than the stock V6. It's actually not that much to do a conversion like this, nowher near 7k anyway. I got the body kit for 625 and the wheels should cost me around 400 so that's not oo bad. I got a V6 because it was a little cheaper than the V8 and I'm 23 and didn't want to have to pay the 5000 per year for insurance I was quoted!!

I put The upgrade GT wheels, GT bumpers, GT sway bars, a full GT exhaust, GT leather seat covers, and a Shaker 500 hu for right at $2000. That was for everything, the parts, shipping, incidentals, labor for the exhaust, everything.
Money well spent I think.
I didnt buy the GT for many reasons, but I like the exterior look better so thats why I changed mine.
People are amazed when I correct them and tell them that it is a V6.
Im thinking about doing some bling under the hood, then maybe a few local car shows. Around here, there arent many late models that show up to the shows. Its different and something to do.
