install on new tail lights from AM

I just got my new darker tail lights from AM. They look really good....the design and everything looks OEM with the exception it is darker.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/tailli...09-smoked.html

I am just doing my install right now and everything is quite straightforward except I am having some challenges getting the reverse bulb out of the original tail light housing.

All the other lights came out quite easily........just twisted and pulled them out. However, the reverse light, is not coming out so easily.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I didn't have any problems when I installed my sequential taillight harness. Just twist and pull like all the rest...

Sometimes old plastic can be a pain to break lose. Try pushing in a little harder before you turn. There's really not much else you can do with plastic!

OK, I finally got the reverse light out. I tried pushing in hard first and then twisting but it did not work. I even tried using a rubber mallet to loosen it a bit, but still no luck. I was twisting and pushing so hard, I think my face was going purple.

I then wrapped the plug with a towel and put some pliers on top of it and it finally came off relatively easily.

Haha well I'm glad it eventually came off. When plastic pieces are that difficult to take off, I usually end up breaking them because I'm so frustrated. Good thinking with the towel!

My dad used to wrap jar lids in towels to open them. Totally random I know... I haven't thought about that in years!

Anyway good news.

I had same issue today. Needed pliers too. As you can see, I got it!
