I want Shelby lights.
any1 know of any1 who can help me make a ste of the original concept car for the 05 mustang tail lights. I want the long ones they used that look like the shelby's. Im gonna mod the trunk, so the "gas filler" /GT/Mustang emblem and trunk lock stays stationary, and the rest fothe trunk opens like the coupes and fastbacks. Then make a cable operated trunk release for inside the car. maybe even use the PKE to open it...... any1 know who i can find to work with me to make these?
The concept lights are sweet. If I were doing the project I'd leave the lid alone and just incorporate the a set of thin lights to the back of the lid (along with a matching set where the stock lamps are). This would best be accomplished if an after market company were able to use LED's. I'd rather worry about a little bit of wiring mods to the trunk lights instead of the sheetmetal mods.
Just my .02 - I've been watching your other projects and you know what you're doing.

Think a lot of people want this (I know I do). Be sure to post pics on progress once you get going with this.
Regarding trunk release, no need for a cable, you can wire in a switch. Been mentioned in multiple threads.

Check out this thread of pics from SEMA 2005. pics The light yellow car is made by Thalon, I think. They have the full width taillights a'la Eleanor/'67 Shelby. I have no idea if they are for sale yet, but it looks like they just added lights to the lower half of the trunk lid to match modified ones on the rear panel. Hope this helps.
I remember seeing a car a while back on another forum that some guy had claimed his dad used Shelby parts and it had the old lights- some people said it was a photoshop but it looked pretty real to me, I wish I could remember where I saw it...
I've always wondered what happen to the concept lights.. They were awsome..
I look at them as the Cougar Tribute Tail Lights!
You can actually get away without a wing with the tail lights, more than the current ones.. The lines flow alittle better I guess..

Well looking at the pics on Thalons web page apparantly they have some sort of tail light design. They look pretty good, very much like the Shelby tail lights, even have the spacing between the taillights and body. I would hope they also are sequensial. They are the only ones I have seen coming out with anything like this. I guess we will have to wait for pricing and all from these guys.
I WANT THOSE TAIL LIGHTS. I just sent an email to Thalon Design, so I'll wait to see if they will be offering the lamps, in terms of a kit that can be added to the car. I hope one can buy the kit, and add it to an existing '05/'06 GT. It would look SO GOOD, especially with sequentials.
i want lights like the original prototype, or the GT-R....I dont liek the thalon lights, they are crooked i nthe rear for one....looks cool, but not my style..... and they dont have three lgiths...only two.... I need someone to make those lgihtsfor me.....
also the thalon kit looks like it used the cougar lights.

Roger I thought you were going to sell the mustang to get a ZR1? What happened? I dont mean anything rude when asking this cause I've really enjoyed seeing your car come along and would hate to see it go.
