Cool I may be finally getting my 67 Hood on my car

I ordered a while back and it has been sitting at the body shop to get painted my cervinis 67 ram air hood. I am getting a good deal on the job, really good, but they are also taking their time to sand the bottom of the hood and do a good paint job there as well. I drop off my car monday to get the hood fitted and the stripes applied.

I will post the pics when I get her back.

I thought about the 68 ram air, but I had to keep with my 66/67 shelby theme. I dropped her off today and I will post pics when I get them.

Also on the to do list is my roll bar is also on order and I should have it sent to me by next week. I am planning on painting it black (the Krylon Hammered finish).

ok, its painted

Ok, I got it painted, waiting on the stripes.

If you are going with a cervini ram air, you need to plan on getting a grill of some sort over the openings. It does not come with one and it really should.

Here is my 68 ram air test fit on friday as it went to the body shop. I should have it back this thursday. Big ditto on the opening grill they could have at least sent the chicken wire. I guess I will come up with some alternative.

Yes the cervini louvers snap in and use the black 3m tape. It also comes with the rain guards if you want to install those. You can keep it open or close it off to keep the water off the engine . I am going to leave them off for now. I had them paint everything top and bottom Torch red to match the car. The underside of this hood for a additional 250 can be made to direct the air to the stock filter location. The underside is also very smooth almost like a Steeda hood. It doesn't have all the contours like the other two manufacturer's. those have almost a factory look as far as that goes. You could have a mural painted under the Cervini hood it is that flat.

The deflector for the ram air is a separate unit on the Cervini. I didn't get it as I don't want the air forced straight on the filter. If you got stuck in a bad rain then all that water has to go someplace and that would be right on the conical filter from my CIA. I have a Cobra with the JLT mounted down in the fender and that is a issue with it. it is so far down inside the fender liner if it got out in a hard rain it would saturate the filter and cause trouble.

I pick up all the parts and begin assymbly Wednesday afternoon.

On a side note it is hard to see in the side shot but the back of the Cervini hood follows the rounded contour of the glass area not like the boxed out square look of the truefiber hood. As far as the ram openings those are about the same size. it doesnt show up that good but there is a good 2 to 3 inch rise from the stock hood location.

I like how it looks. I like the TruFier one but I dont like how they did the back of the hood so flat. The Cervini's looks like it follows the hood lines in the back better then the TruFiber one.

I just wish the openings of the Cervini's were closer to the front. Other then that its a real good looking hood. Cant wait to see the finish product. Im now excited about thisa hood whereas before I didn't even give it a second though.

Any chance of an under the hood picture of the Cervini hood and a better shot of the back of the hood to see how well it follows the curve of the hood?
