How about removing side windows and installing

Like I said, that is the best one available at this time (opinions expressed do not necessarily relect those of TMS).
I know some manufacturers are hinting at designing functional louvers and depending on how well they look and work I just might get some.
I totally agree that the MRT's are the best out there now. That said, if I could get some that replace the window, and are flush like the 65-66 fastbacks, I'd be on it in a heart beat. I wonder how they'd look from the inside.
I think it's ironic that so many people want to replace the quarter window with a vent/louvers.
When the 66 GT350 came out, the thing to do was to retrofit the vent with plexiglass! The glass quarter windows are one of my favorite styling features of the new Mustang. To each his/her own I guess....Mustangs are made to be modified!
Can you see out with the vents? I would think it would be huge blind spot.

If I would have ever modified my old '65 fastback, that would have been the very first mod. I love the quarter window on the '05 so much, that was the deciding factor in not getting a vert!

Those are SEMA cars. Most of those products were "one-off" pieces and never got produced.

Doesn't really matter, find the company that did it, and convince them of a real interest with good money (and continued good money), and i'm sure they'll bite.

Those are fugly though.
Like the "bubble" louvres, they retain the shape of the window too much. Even if these were on the market, I'd keep my MRT's.
IMHO, functional louvres need to look like the ones in this (sick
) 'chop.

If the windows were replaced with true vents like the classic, I'm sure there'd be a huge blind spot, but that same blind spot has never kept me from driving the 66. B)
The louvers on the gold photoshop look great but would require extensive body work (most likely not going to happen).
I don't like the one's from the blue SEMA car at all, way too flat.
These "photoshopped" from the Boyd Coddington ad would be very nice if someone would duplicate them and make them available.

It wouldn't require bodywork, at all. The outside flange/frame of the vents would need to be squared (like the gold photochop above) and would sit on top of the car... similar to the MRT's except that it would only stick out from the car an 1/8-1/4". The actual vents though would be inset about an inch or so inside of the squared-off frame and be able to recess into the 'rounded' opening after removing the 1/4 window glass.
I definitely agree that the 'bubble' louvers pictured on those SEMA cars are fugly. Those would never be put on my car. The corners need to be squared off like the original louvers. And since the radius of the corners on the stock 1/4 window glass is relatively small, this can be solved by the outside frame of the louver being squared off and sitting ON the car, while the actual louvers recess IN the rounded stock opening.

Now, how can I get that snaggletooth chin spoiler?
